I am staying in Jalan Lempeng area which is very near to Nan Hua pr(ideally can walk to school is the best). HOwever past balloting history shows that usually application is 200% for phase 2c.
I am old girl of Qifa.
Wonder if I should go for balloting at P2c Nan HUa Primary or just go with Qifa.
How easy is it to get into PV at Nan Hua? Any past volunteers can share your experience?
Hi cat_quek,
It is dangerous to try phrase 2C in Nan Hua cos if you can't get any seats from the balloting, you might not be able to get any from Qifa as well cos since 2014, there has been balloting in phrase 2C.
What some parents would do is..... though it is highly discouraged!!!!! They secure a place in pharse 2A under old boy/girl scheme then decide if it is worth it to give it up in phrase 2C to try balloting for a place in the other school. But it is very risky.
Perhaps you can try applying to be a PV in Nan Hua first as I gathered from some; not so easy at all. Another factor you need to look out for is the number of 40 hours PVs in the school. If they have thirty 40 hours PVs in the school, you might have to go through balloting as the available seats under phrase 2B is lesser than thirty.
Hope the info helps -
Anyone staying at varsity park? There is no school within the 2km radius.so where do you send your children? Does this mean our chances of getting into the schools are very slim?

Hi mumofboys2, a K2 schoolmate living in Varsity Park is thinking of (1) Bukit Timah Primary (to rely on school bus service) (2) Qifa Primary. Qifa is nearer but likely to be over-subscribed, or so it is said. -
Thank you!

Most kids living in this area go to Qifa, Clementi Pri. & Pei Tong Pri. Those who cannot get into the above three will go to Bt Timah Pri.
Hope this helps. -

Hi ,
Qifa has reduced its intake from 240 to 210 this year. As of now, more than half have been filled. It is very hard to gauge if it will be oversubscribed as of now. Keep a lookout for the numbers.
Mumofboys2, not sure if you are registering but usually Singaporeans have no problem getting a place there under phrase 2C. In fact, there are quite a handful of students staying at varsity park and stellar.
Hope this info will help -
hi,
how many people did PV in Qifa, Clementi Primary and Pei Tong (for current 2016 registration)? Thank you
-
Hi since1877,
For Qifa, the number of 40 hours PV is definitely less than 20
