Oh My Gosh:
daughter has her prelims end August, Prelim Oral in July, PSLE Oral mid Aug. it is THIS crazy in P6.Just informed by DC school - July (Prelims Oral), Aug (Prelims) ?!?!?
Thought DC just finished SA1?!?!?! :yikes: :yikes: -
At the end of the day , PSLE result is with reference to cohort. So nothing to panic about. Let’s remind our children that and not to panic if they found a paper difficult. If it is difficult , then it is likely difficult across the board. So do your best. If it is easy, then do your checks and do your best.
Easy papers will make the distinction more narrow. And of course, the ones who are more prone to mistakes pay a higher penalty. -

During the PTM the teachers gave a similar feedback. Rest well and have fun days, a little revision would be good. The pressure is going to start from week 3. They reminded to take care so that the children do not burn out before PSLE. And take good care of health. It is good that teachers are on the look out for the stress levels of the kids.
100% revision is not important, most important is that they are mentally and physically 100% fit , only then they can do their best. -

well I thought it was supposed to be an interview with the Minister to uncover more news about the new PSLE scoring etc, turned out to be rehashing the same old story about PSLE stress currently? No takeaways basically, I don't know what is the purpose/message of that particular episode.
Agreed. I was expecting something extra from this exclusive interview by CNA but turned out only the following stood out for me:
Said Mr Ng: “I know there has been discussion in the public domain, whether there would be new measures of co-curricular activities, character and all the different possibilities. Well it won’t be like that.
“It would be academically based on merit, but it would be fair and transparent,” he said
He again reiterated this message on Capitol 95.8 last evening (7-8pm) in Mandarin.
Anyway, I should post this in the 2021 PSLE thread.

As for the story of that P6 girl, do note that her father is a http://accountancy.smu.edu.sg/faculty/profile/76093/Kevin-OW-YONG and a lecturer at SMU. Her reasons that this is going to be the second toughest PSLE yet are incredibly lame (globalisation, therefore exam papers will become tougher to gear us up, or something along those lines). -

Have you read this? What are your views?
Yes. This Mr Ian Tan must have forgotten to highlight that ACSI also wants their boys to be \"leader\".
Our school vision for Years 1 – 4 students is:
Every ACSian a Scholar, Officer, Gentleman
For God & Humanity
Our school vision for Years 5 and 6 students is:
Every ACSian a Scholar, Leader, Global Citizen
For God & Humanity
http://www.acsindep.moe.edu.sg/about-acs-independent/school-profile/
When the P/VP of this other school talked about wanting to nurture \"leaders\", he/she must be referring to students' character and values, not \"absolute results or salary scale\". Either he was sleeping or he had misinterpreted the P/VP. -

some girl says something she feels and.moe/seab got to jump out and say something? why? just because something was on tv doesn't make it real.
MOE/SEAB should clarify why that girl said this year's PSLE will be 'second most difficult'. she is just a P6 student, so where did she get this information from?janet88:

I really wish that MOE or SEAB would clarify this because it has been on the main media and is causing a considerable stir.
if it's a tough paper, everyone will find it tough and marks get adjusted. if it's an easy paper, then only those careful ones will do really well, but that may not show mastery of content. :siam:
Nonsense. It's on the media and on the Internet (someone should also put it in Wikipedia), it must be real.
P/S: if someone wants to make some money from a Nigerian prince, let me know. I got the lobang from an email

LOL! Floppy and hquek are having fun with this. Somehow when it's our DC's turn to take PSLE, we get all tensed up and something seemingly small like this can make us anxious. Thanks for putting it in the right perspective. -
Let’s support our kids through this tense period… and we parents will support ourselves through kiasuparents website also … lol

If the paper is easy, chances are the kids will let down their guard and be more careless…markers will be stricter too. Sun’s advice is very good. Thanks.
