How does Year 3 and Year 4 work? Because of the Gap Sem in Year 4, all the assessments are done in Year 3? Are there exams in Year 4 besides the O Levels exams for MT?

Year 3 & 4 is technically a one-and-a-half-year course.

I heard there are combined tests between RI and RGS in Year 4. May I know whether the tests are CAs or MYCTs?

Yup they juz had the 3 subjects i.e Maths,eng & chem and they are CAs. But i heard the weightage is more in Rgs than in Ri.. & Rgs gals tend to score better than Ri boys..

That's not what RGS teachers tell the girls! My daughter was told that RI boys do far better in Maths and Chem, but the girls do better in English. No facts or numbers to back up any of this as it's all very hush-hush. Anyway, it doesn't really matter, right? It doesn't impact their subject choice at Yr5, and students are not compared across the 2 schools at Yr4. I would think it's more for the teachers to calibrate their teaching and marking, and for the Yr5 teachers to take into account gaps they might need to fill.

No idea about the weightage in RGS. I don't pay attention to these details as my daughter keeps track of it herself.
