Nay, I think we should just lobby for them to add+2 to the EL grade to make us feel better
Hi KidCat..
My boy told me the EL paper was a 'killer' and the marking was extremely strict. He said his classmates who usually score A1/A2 for EL, got B3 this time. My boy's EL also dipped by almost 10 marks. At first, I thot he was just giving excuses. So now, can I minus-2 from his EL grade to feel better ?
I can't rem if the result slip shows the level's highest & lowest, mean & medium scores for each subject, and the percentile our boys are at. Hopefully, it does.
In the past, the result slip showed the percentile of each subject as well as respective teacher's comments. Hw it has since been removed. Hope they can reinstate, particularly for this year YR 2 EL, we need to know the reason for the lower marks mah.
My boy told me that too and seems like there is a petition going around.. I was worried when he scored so low for English but it seems like whole Sec 2 have the same issue. -
Does anyone know when the year end school holiday starts for CHS? Last year was around end Oct. Trying to plan for a year end holiday.

Hi,Yea would like to know the marks given to each grade.
A+, A, etc etc
How about MEP, understand from Son MEP
Marks are slightly different. Confused here.
Anyone knows about the Music marks ? Eg between
A+ and A1?
Thanks
MEP (Music) is an O level subject, so it's grading follows that of O level A1-F9. Same as HCL. -
I noticed HCL grade has no. such as B3, C5, whereas other subjects only has alphabet eg A+, A, B. Is this following A Level grading system?

Hcl is following national grading standard. The rest is following school standard grading -

Hcl is following national grading standard. The rest is following school standard grading
hence the subject is given the MOE O level grading.

One of my friends who tried to DSA her kid to Cat High via the performing arts told me that Strings is not listed as a CCA in the school. I am surprised as Strings Ensemble is a CCA in the primary school section and also a CCA listed in Eunoia JC. Anybody knows why it isnβt offered as a CCA in the secondary school section?

As more CCAs (including UGs) are being offered in sec schools, there may not be enough number to form a Strings Orchestra in most sec schools.
Students with strings background are encouraged to join the Chinese Orchestra, which combines traditional instruments with western strings. If your friend's kid plays the cello or double bass, he can join the Bowed Strings section of the CO.
Ask your friend's kid to go ahead with DSA, if he's really keen on joining CHS. Good Luck ! -

Hi,
Not sure if this has been asked before but I have some problem with search function in KSP Forum.
I registered my DS for DSA (Academic) in CHS. He is required to take a English and Math test his coming Saturday. May I know what is the format and what topics would be tested? Is it similar to GAT? Any preparation needed? Thanks in advance!
