Anyone can advise when I can start to buy the entry tickets to Disneyland and disneysea? Going in Dec. Is there any place I can get with discount?
I tried their main website and seems not easy to use. Are the hotels there very hot? I have been browsing since May and it seems most are full even till dec. -

the parks are crowded, cannot imagine wk ends.
can get tickets from JTB, charge in Yen or HIS in Singapore . But they dun sell multi days or magic pass . You can upgrade to magical pass in the park cust serv counter.
For dressing up as Princess, serv is available fot hotel guest staying in Disney hotels ( not the gd neighbors hotels though) -
Hi
Just wondering do you go to Japan free and easy or on package tour. If free & easy, how do you overcome the language barrier?
Thanks. -
In Tokyo and most major cities, there are English signboards, especially at train stations, malls, tourist attractions, etc.
Outskirt more challenging
Most restaurant have mock-up food displays or menu with pictures, so can point-point.
And if you know Chinese, do not try to converse in Mandarins, use English instead. :siam: -

I downloaded an app. Can't remember the name, but something like 'Jspeak'. It helps to translate what I speak into the phone into Japanese. Even if it's too noisy to hear the translation, most, if not all, Japanese are literate and they could read the Japanese words on the phone. I only used it when I really had to ie. couldn't find the station exit and needed gastric medicine, as it was not very convenient to use.Hi

If I needed to locate a place, I had the Japanese addresses printed and when I reached somewhere near there, I asked the locals where the place was. They were extremely helpful people. They actually walked us to the exact places! My mother was most impressed.
But many of them were able to understand simple English. In the event I was worried they might not understand, I used layman sign language

And I downloaded a picture showing all the different meat and meat parts on my phone. Pictures beat a thousand hand gestures. And don't intend to flap my arms like a chicken or crow like one.

Per what others hv shared, Jap's city road signages, maps and subway/rail station signages/ticket machines are in Romaji n Kanji. So you won't get confused like many foreigners did >10 yrs ago...Hi

Food menus come with photos and if you'e already familiar w some common Jap food names, you really won't face any prob in ordering. We usually point @ the photo & say \"one\" or \"two\" in Eng, further signalling with our fingers
Bring along your hotel's address card if you wish to take cabs.
We took public buses which also hv romaji displays. If you are really unsure of the bus fare, simply grab a bunch of coins to let the bus captain pick and toss into the box for you.
Those who can read Chinese won't have any major prob navigating around the rural districts or reading food labels. I googled for the meaning whenever I was unsure. Download those apps.
For info, most Jap dept stores n major rail stations hv a Chinese speaking concierge to serve mainlanders. It's really hard to get lost in Jap seriously! Most locals would be more than happy to guide you to your location. -
can cab take 2A 3C (below 12)?

I was apprehensive about DIY previously, but after one trip, I realised how easy it was. Even out trip to Chubu region which is more countryside was ok. If you can read Chinese, it helps a lot. Promounciation diff but meaning same.
