2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take

ChiefKiasu:
They allocate the school as and when they like. Foreign siblings don't even get to attend the same school. True story. Happened to my foreigner friend. Worst, the 2 schools are not even close to each other. Not even close to their home.
Oops, that's right. I forgot. Thanks for the clarification. In any case, parents will still have to register on 26 August to be considered for a place. It is just that they will only find out whether they have secured a place on 30 November, a month before the start of school.BigDevil:
Chief, phase 3 this year does not seem to be first-come-first-serve...
Taken from https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/prima ... ion/phases:
Parents of non-Singapore Citizen (SC) / non-Permanent Resident (PR) children should note that admission is not guaranteed as there are limited vacancies remaining for non-SC / non-PR children after places are allocated to SC / PR children.
MOE will publish the list of available primary schools for parents to register their child in this phase. MOE will thereafter centrally process all the applications and the posting outcome will be released to parents by 30 November 2016.
Actually this central processing makes the applications for foreigners even more uncertain. The lack of transparency in the allocation of places for foreigners may lead to accusations of money politics where seats may be granted to foreigners deemed to be more \"desirable\" by the ministry. I think SCs and PRs should better appreciate the priority given to them, seeing how difficult it is for foreigners to get a place in our schools. -

Hello,
I would like to ask a question.
Before I make a decision whether to go ahead to register my child for Phase 2B in a popular school, how will I know
a) the total number of applicants,
b) the number of SCs and PRs and
c) the number of applicants for each category for home-school distance (ie no of applicants living less than 1km, no of applicants living btw 1-2km to the school etc)?
Will the above information be put up in the schools after the end of the first day of registration
so that I can make a decision whether to go ahead to register my child in that school on the second day of registration.
Would appreciate a reply if you know the answers to the above or any advice. Thank you.
Just for my curiosity, how many choices are you eligible for in P2B, besides this popular school?
Hi qms,
There are two popular schools that I am considering and I qualify for both under P2B. -
Would like to thank ChiefKiasu, Missinex, zac's mum and Sam_Yishun for taking the time to answer my question. Appreciate it and it was a great help!

Hi! Any parents trying for phase 2C in popular schools? I only qualify for phase 2C and all the schools within 1km of my place went for balloting last year. I’m still going to try anyway as I have no other option. ( other than unpopular schools more than 1km away, which all had places in 2c supp last year). Just want to know if any other parents are in the same predicament.

Hi, anyone can help me...
1) is this the link that we monitor for the registration status? Mine is phase 2C ...
https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/prima ... urong-East
2) looking at the Fuhua Primary school in this link.. why are the \"no. of children registered\" still shown as 0? Nobody registered so far? And i noticed most schools shown zero, except afew got numbers...
Thanks -
How do I know how many seats taken up after Phase 2A1. I believe today the results are announced. How are the schools announcing the results? Putting up a list at school notice board? meaning - I have to visit 3 to 4 schools near my area to check how many seats are filled up. My son’s a PR & I stay at Rivervale Drive. Equal distance from Rivervale Primary & North Spring. I am so keen to get into Rivervale Primary but not sure whether can get in or not. Have lots of questions & glad to find this thread… pls help.
