2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take
-
Those were the numbers given to me.
I didn’t go into details. -
Hello...
Haven't been very active in this thread...come Monday and it will finally be my turn to do this P1 registration thing for my 1st born, feeling a little nervous and somehow not quite coming to terms my boy is going into formal \"serious\" school.
Right now, all I can ask for is an uneventful P1 registration process. Keeping my fingers and toes all crossed, as I will be doing another round of P1 registration for my 2nd born next year :xedfingers:
Phase 2B for SJIJ within 2km is pretty ok yah...based on past years' history -
for the school that needed 2A(2) balloting, those who didn’t get in do they qualify for 2B. or only 2C?

Phase 2B depends on whether you have any Clan/Church membership connected to the school, School PV or Active grassroots leader.
Else the rest of the world will goes to Phase 2C. -
zac's mum:
It's possible that 1 of them is PR, so not eligible for balloting. Maybe they didn't bother to withdraw.
There were 28 applicants. Did 1 withdraw? Or maybe there a pair of twins among those outside 2km?BigDevil:
I kaypo and called ACS and was told that
22 kids will be balloting for 2 remaining places,
after 5 had been allocated to those living within 2km. -

All the schools going for balloting are for SC > 2km. They will not qualify for phase 2B or 2C for the same schools as these schools typically only have places for 2B and 2C for SC less than 1km ( and balloting within this category is very likely). They will most likely have to try other schools nearer their homes in either/both 2B and 2C.
I bet they are just trying their luck. If don't get a place, just go to their backup school. -
To all those facing balloting at the 3 schools today, GOOD LUCK!!

Hi Mummy_ask
1) if register your girl in HIPS which is co-Ed, then you won't have headache with younger one...phase 1.janet88:
anyone can enlighten on these schools pls,
Holy Innocent Primary (HIPS) Vs Chij OLN (girls)
(both under Phase 2B)
ARGHHHHHHH.............. NEXT WEEK!
Have a #02 (Boy) to follow 3 yrs later.
HIPS (within 2km) is moving out for 2 years to AMK holding school - Sap School.
IJ OLN is within 1 km
Cant decide!!
2) CHIJ OLN has affiliation, if you wish to enjoy that.
3) even if school moves to holding school somewhere else, the original address of the school will still be used when registering for p1.
It depends on whether you would like to house both your kids in the same school. Not sure if the distance is an issue for you for the holding school.
HIPS for the past 10 years - 8 times ballot on 2B but for those staying more than 2km. No ballot for those staying within 2km for the last 10 years. If TUR until 2A2 is within 70%, the same trend should follow.
There is no balloting for 2B for CHIJ OLN.
The balloting history suggests that whether you decide to place your #01 in OLN then #02 in HIPS or #01 and #02 in HIPS, both should be likely to be successful. As mentioned by janet88, if you place your #01 in HIPS, you will only experience this P1 registration process once.
If logistics is not an issue (holding school distance, or 2 kids in two different schools), perhaps you also like to see if your #01 likes to be in a girls school or co-ed, overall environment for a mission school should be similar (although I don’t have a first-hand experience of HIPS or OLN)
CHIJ OLN is affiliated to CHIJ St Joseph’s Convent
HIPS is affiliated to Holy Innocents’ High School
Thanks Lexy for the advise.
Distance to us is not a problem.
Think i am just indecisive over these 2 schools cos am just concern whether my gal can cope in the SAP school with the CHINESE.
I like IJ's environment and their CCA.
If only have 1 school nearby with the 2 combine that would be PERFECT!
hahaha..... 3days to go and will have to decide

Sometimes it's good to go down both schools and have walk and get a feel. You can bring your #01 along to see if she feels anything.
Thanks Lexy for the advise.
