Yes, you are right. You won't be able to monitor the situation online. If possible, you should be physically in the school on the last hour to get the live update from their admin staff.

[/quote]You can consider calling the school to check. Most schools will let you know the breakdown e.g how many SC within 1 km and if need to ballot or not. Only problem is last minute applicants and withdrawals. Most likely these people will go down to the school directly to apply at just before 4.30 on the last day and the school will not be able to update you.
Unfortunately for 2C, there is online registration. So it depends on the school updating both online and walk in applications by the time you call.

Ditto! Likewise, I have also registered my daughter under Phase 2B. The teacher told me that I can check the MOE website by 8pm tomorrow night to see if the places are over-subscribed.

Out on MOE website, 57 vacancies with 54 registrants (who are probably praying nobody turns up tomorrow)

A friend said that as of 4pm today; breakdown for ACS is:
Primary 26 applicants
21 - 1 km
5 - 2km

Junior - 55 applicants
1km - 29
2km - 4
More than 2km - 23
