Any Updates As To When PSLE T-Scores Will Be Scrapped?

I would like Eunoia JC to be a top JC! But it was off to a poor start with a change of its interim site and delays to the completion of the final site, remember? And it definitely won't be better than RI or HCI, for sure, at least not for the foreseeable future.
Why would you not think Eunoia is going to be a top JC ? The calibre of the cohort is good ( from SNGS, SCGS and CHS) and so far all the teachers announced has got good credentials with some graduating from Stanford, Oxford and even Harvard...
I believe they have 万事俱备 只欠东风
Lest we get distracted, I would like to reiterate that for good students, balloting for secondary school is not just about a spot in sec school, it also decides which JC a top student goes. -

I agree that one doesn't need to go RI/HCI to develop one's full potential to go University. However, one must also agree that the scholarships, especially for the more prestigious SAFOS and SPFOS, have been monopolised by these 2 schools in recent years.
It's desirable that our educational system is less elitist but I am not sure if the PSLE reforms are enough to break the stranglehold of RI & HCI
Pls pardon my ignorance but what does SAFOS and SPFOS stand for?

Parents always want the best for their children, already the GEP selection can cause some parents to go bonkers
All schools ARE good schools. Unfortunately every parent wants the best schoollee_yl:
Sure, if you believe that all schools are good schools

But this balloting does not guarantee that you will be posted to the next choice if there is a tie in the earlier choice. It all depends on supply and demand and if you are lucky you got your 1st choice. If unlucky you might be posted to a school far from your place.
Yes, it does, unless both choices have the same cut-off. Balloting out in the earlier 6-point choice will guarantee being posted to the 7-point next choice because you have 6 points, which is better than the cut-off. If you have to ballot at the 7-point choice, you won't even have the chance to ballot at the 6-point earlier choice.

Er... what if the 7-point school has got too many 6-pointers applying for it? :siam: -

The gap will not be closed overnight but overtime and we have to start somewhere.....
The pessimist in me says that this will never happen. There will also be some school deemed better than others for some reason or other. The question that I have is: is it really that bad to have different schools with different performance levels? -

My understanding is the balloting is no difference for O level to JC posting and so far have not heard major glitches. But I do recognise perhaps new statistics need to be collected for PSLE posting.

This is the stress that those who had gone throughout balloting in p1 could identify. Balloting for a place in primary school is slightly better as you know your chance and could decide if you want to take it. Else go for the next nearest school.
But the new psle system, what do we know....only the points. -

Then it would be a 6-point school and not a 7-point school. Just stating the obvious. :imanangel:pirate:
