2016 P1 Registration Exercise for 2017 In-Take

Does anyone know if we can retract an application made for P1 2C after it's been submitted?
can be done
\t
Qn : I have already registered my child in a school. I now wish to register my child in another school. What should I do?
\t
Answer : To register in another school in a phase that the child is eligible for, you need to withdraw your application in person from the first school. Both parents’ original NRICs have to be produced at the point of withdrawal in order for the school to process the withdrawal. After the withdrawal is completed, you may then register your child in another school.
If you have registered your child online via the Primary One Internet System (P1-IS) and you wish to do an online withdrawal, you are required to logon to P1-IS to submit the withdrawal. After a withdrawal is completed online, re-registration has to be done at your school of choice. -

Yes, you can withdraw. but need some documents at both the place of withdrawal and need to go over to the other school with the original set of documents to register.
this process is not for the faint-hearted.
Your chance for 1-2km NAPS looks good at the moment. Choose your back up school and also choose the strategy (1. register first then withdraw when you want to escape the balloting or 2. wait until 3rd day afternoon before you make the application.)
You may like to try to find out the numbers for the balloting in NAPS in 2013 (how many applicants in 1-2km ballot for how many slots in 2C). That will give you a good gauge of how is it like if 1-2km need balloting. -
Thanks, y’all!
Note to self: Check MOE’s website in the future. Doh! -

I believe you also have the number of vacancy for this year. -

You have 2 options - call the school and ask them politely for the breakdown by distance/SC for applications. Or if they are entertaining your phone calls, go down to the school and patiently ask the admin staff for an update. Most schools will not refuse you. You can tell them you need to know as you will withdraw your child is there is chance of ballot or apply for a place if your chances of escaping ballot is good. -

[/quote]You may need physical presence at the school you already registered and also the other school of choice so that you can make informed decision. It can be very manual

There is also another option. If parents who have called the school provide an update of breakdown by numbers for the respective schools on this forum, then the rest of us will not need to call. It all depends if the parents want to share the information.
I hope parents who call can help other parents by updating the results. -
grapevine:
Does anyone understand kiasu chiefs' 2C analysis? Does -30 change in vacancies mean that that particular school will have less places in 2C or more applications this year? Bukit Timah primary has -30 Vacancies, but usually this school has more than sufficient places for phase 2C.
Sorry. I have changed the column label to better reflect what it means. The last column refers to the change in total vacancies granted to the school by MOE this year, vs last year. So -30 means that the school actually lost 30 places upfront, versus 2015. Phase 2C will be most affected by the change, and hence competition may actually heat up even if demand remains the same.
By the way, Bukit Timah Primary did not lose 30 places. You probably misread the row. It was West View Primary that did.
