[Yishun] Primary Schools
-
I called the CFS. Many of the registered are within 1km. My house is 1.02km away and so was advised by them to look out for other schools within the area. HOWEVER, the school did not reveal on the breakdown of SC/ PRs. Sighs…

The breakdown of SC/PR is mostly irrelevant in this case. It's safe to assume 99.9% will be SC.
I was trying to inject a dose of reality previously but you would have to activate your backup plan now. Do note that even if your younger one gets into Chongfu, it's not safe to assume that the elder one can get a successful transfer immediately. There is going to be a long waiting list. -

Looks equally fierce over at Northland...I wonder if that HIHP mom had made up her mind?supermeowmee:

Most parents are probably hedging their bets that the other Yishun primary schools remain unpopular and if they fail in their ballot at Chongfu/Northland, pick one of the others in P2Cs. Apart from Chongfu and Northland, no other schools in Yishun would require balloting if applications as of yesterday stand.floppy:

The \"many within 1km\" is in fact how many... is 1-2 km totally out of picture or have a chance to ballot... :? -
/waves from the HIPS mum~
Frankly speaking my heart is at Chongfu Primary. Deciding tonight but most probably, I will be taking a gamble for the Chongfu Primary. At least I tried with no regrets. It would be a decision where it will decide for my daughter's 6 years education. Not sure if the T-Score will work but I am confident. If it failed, I will most probably put myself on waiting list for CFS and registered for Jiemin.
May the odds be in our favour~
Fyi, I am in 1km to 2km radius. -

I really hope to have a slightest chance for 1-2km.

If the applicants within 1km is 78 per last year and left with 5, and the rest of 45 are from 1-2km. Will you still take the chance? My question is just based on total day 1 numbers. 78 is already the lowest applicants in the past 10 year history. Too bad we doesn't have a 12 year history.
If today the number of applicants reduced, it means it more likely for the ballot to be within 1km.
Jiemin as a backup plan should be used within 2C itself if not another ballot awaits.
Wishing you all the best. -
Lexy:
If there are more than 83 SC within 1km, she won't get a chance to apply as she will be turned away. Hence, Jiemin as a backup will have to kick in immediately after paying a visit to Chongfu.

If the numbers reduced from yesterday (123 applicants), that means those >1km would have or ask to be withdrawn. If the numbers increased from yesterday, that means more <1km SC has jumped into the fray. Either statistics won't be good news.
