I breastfed my kids till 8 mths old. I used to wonder if I made the right decision as the other formula-fed babies seem to be much bigger 😐 .

oh, breastfeeding is the best...best to breastfeed until the baby is 2 yr of age.

cow milk goes to calf, mother's milk goes to baby... šŸ˜„

cow milk has dunno how many times protein richer than breast milk. and most cow protein goes into poo poo anyway.

I gathered that (of course unable to prove) commercially grown animals were fed/ or injected with growth hormones and steroids (for more lint muscles), so to speed up the profit realization cycles as these animal will be more muscular faster, these growth enhancing drugs, may or may not be 100% disintegrated in their digestive systems, so the residues reside in muscle tissues, organs, blood, MILK and etc. so what happened if human eat these animals?

You will be digesting the residues of these growth hormones & steroids... these are probably why kids nowadays grow faster, adult age faster (perhaps cancer cells growth were enhanced too!)! :stupid:

And funny part is, those growth hormones for chicken are very similar to female hormone in human, and may be responsible for less manliness in male human spicy...
I read about this too....and I recalled in another thread, some mummies said their girls start having period really young (ate alot of chicken).

Thus, I hardly feed my boy chicken but alot of salmon. But now, I read from here about the high mercury content in salmon! Oh dear, what meat can he consume now?

I prefer fresh soya milk from the stalls in the market where you can see them making fresh batches. But I will also get those from the chiller like Nutrisoy or Sobe. There was another thread where a parent mentioned that she has a soya milk making machine. Tempted to get that. Nothing beats fresh homemade stuff.

erm, those soy milk contains A LOT OF sugar and is very diluted. that's why it so economical.

No lah no sugar. I get the no added sugar ones. Even those from the market I tell them not to add syrup.

That's why I limit chicken to my kids to once a week. But they also eat chicken in school too 😐 . I usually buy the sakura chicken (sold in fairprice) as they claim they don't use antibiotics (not sure abt hormones). Also avoid eating the neck (even for pork) and wings as I heard that's where all the hormones accumulate.

I'd go for organic chicken if it's not that ridiculously expensive. It's not like before when all chicken are free range and organic w/o putting a lable on it.

Read about benefits of Breastfeeding. Very troublesome indeed. SIL has to bring freezer bag to work.

Could this be a myth? Wat-in wat-out. If mum doesn't eat much and malnutrition, the milk also affected? :?

Remember my bro on breastmilk was very weak during childhood. Always sick. 😢 Study average only.

Mum fed me with Condensed Milk, I think it was Milk Maid brand. body stronger... also did better than him in school. Condensed milk got Omega3? Poor child.

                        Busymom:

Thanks, Blobbi... cos' I was about to ask why is it necessary to drink milk, although I did think the answer is most probably calcium. Actually, I didn't consume any fresh milk during my second pregnancy. Neither did I take my calcium supplement... (btw, I am not advocating anyone to follow that). Instead, I drank soy milk (the powdered type), took lots of food that is known to contain calcium including dark green vegetables. After DS was born, I didn't have any dental problem, unlike my first pregnancy... (there's an old saying that woman will lose a tooth with each pregnancy, right?). Thus, I fully subscribe to relying on natural food sources.

Apart from dairy products, do cut down processed food such as ham and sauages, as well refined sugar which is found in cakes and chocolates, etc. 😢
Hats off to you, Busymom! I'm tremendously lucky because I didn't have any adverse reactions to the bowl of pills pregnant women have to take every morning, bleah.

About DS' eczema ... I'm suspecting it's seaweed bcos of the timing. Sugar is so hard to cut because that means no juice even. 😢 Will leave that to the last resort ...
