For egg, DS eats kampong eggs while daddy and mummy eat the cheapest eggs available on the rack.

Where do you get kampong eggs from?

I bought from NTUC. I believe all major supermkts sell them. The packaging will indicate \"Kampong chicken eggs\". One brand is Chew's Eggs. Currently, I am residing overseas and I buy organic eggs.

Do you go for low cholesterol, Vit E, Omega3-fortified eggs?
Cost more.... may be good for old folks... :celebrate:
Yup, sometimes. Depends on my mood at that point in time 😄

Wife dared not take these lower cholesterol eggs with Vit E.

          😞

She worried about extra-chemical inside these eggs. Therefore, there are 2 kinds of eggs in the fridge. :celebrate:

Sometimes the chicks are hatched..... 😢 cannot finish eating.

he is not vain, he is quite a laid back chap but because due to health, he has to go for the stomach binding. dun think that it's good to go for such operation, after the operation, he cannot eat a lot, tiny bowl of rice can make him full and he has to eat slowly.

Does it really work? Any side effects? If not, maybe I shud ask my DH to do it then as he's plumpy since a little kid. Now his mom is blaming me for not taking care of his precious son, although she's the one who didn't instill a healthy eating habbit into him during his childhood :x
(I should probably move this to the IL thread  )

I think same with other slimming methods, you have to constantly watch your diet. so far, I seen him not eating a lot now, since the stomach has been 'stapled'to be smaller. when he was young, the stomach has already been expanded (due to more feeding from young), so now that the stomach is smaller, he has to get used to eating smaller portion. and he cannot eat too fast, I dunno why. maybe can find out more from doctor?? :? sometimes, he has difficulty swallow too fast.

 sorry for being presumptuous. Hope he is alright after the operation.

              it's ok lah... 😄

from what I know the bigger the fish, the higher the mercury content. shark is considered very big fish, that’s why the mercury content is higher…ngor fish is good for kids because it’s a ‘softer’kind of fish, meaning the meat is not as rough as some fish. batang is quite rough in texture…cod fish is also good, as it has omega-3…good for brain development…and the texture is ‘soft’’ not rough, suitable for kids to swallow…if you buy those rough meat fish, kids may have difficult in swallowing…

I took a lot of fish oils for many years. Memory very good.

The downside of good memory: find very hard to forget things. 😢

What to do? How to forget things, esp. unpleasant things :?

My Kiasu Sister in law gives a lot of supplements to her kids. Feed them with a lot of DHA Omega3 food including Salmon. She wants them to do better than her.

Her kids both have behavioural problems... think is Austism or ADHD. Can you imagine, a 5 yr old boy, went to Macdonald, kicked 5 adults until one of the woman brought his son to confront my SIL.. :x

SIL brought kid for diagnosis. They found high content of mercury in the boy's brain. :?:

Scary right? Mercury can cause all sorts of funny diseases... no joke. 🙏 Salmon fish contains certain % of heavy metals, i think.

First of all, ADHD & Autism is not simply a behavioural problem...they are developmental disorders that can manifest in behavioural problems. Your SIL is on the right track with the fish oils...ask her to look into Gluten Free & Casein Free Diet (GFCF). Just google it there's lots of info on the web. Or she can contact me if she's interested to learn more, I'll be happy to share. My boys both have ADHD and my younger son is Autistic. They have been on this diet for 1.5yrs & it has has helped a lot.

Soy (if you have no allergy to it) or rice milk is best. Buy it commercially (see the box indicates gluten free, lactose free etc...) if you can afford it - it is expensive, or if not, make you own at home. I have recipes for both if anyone is interested.

Do you think the contents in the formulated milk powder will worsen the conditions? ADHD or Autism.

                      :?

Heard sugar will cause hyperactivity. Is it true? 😞

Well, a lot of formulas have added flavours/sweeteners which doesn't do anything healthwise other than get the kids to like it and hence the parents to continue buying it.

Processed sugar can cause kids to get hyper, it doesn't cause the condition \"hyperactivity\". So of course kids who suffer from hyperactivity, we don't want to make their condition worse by giving them sugary sweet stuff that will get them even more hyped up. Sugar causes what we call a sugar high and the horror of that is that their energy level spikes up suddenly, giving them this sudden burst of energy and once it burns out, the drop in energy level is also very sudden (kinda like a balloon loosing air - whoosh!). Then all of a sudden the kids feels really REALLY tired (who wouldn't after all that bouncing around) but they don't understand why they are suddenly so drained and it makes them cranky which leaves you with a tired, cranky, uncooperative child on your hands.

As for kids with ADHD & Autism, it's not so much what is added to the formula but milk itself. Milk contains a protein called casien that these kids have trouble processing. What happens is the casien is not digested properly and leaked into their bloodstream. Blood circulates and at some point will reach the brain. The casien seems to cause some kind of chemical reaction - a sort of short circuit in the brain, and this actually causes or enhances the ADHD/Autistic behaviour.

Gluten (a protein found in wheat, barley, rye and some other grains) is another big culprit so for parents who want to help their kids with ADHD/Autism, I strongly recommend researching the GFCF Diet and giving it a try.

Hope this info was useful. 😄
