      phtthp:
Is your child, a foreigner ?

Mgs primary applicable only to children
: who are Sg citizen (SC) and PR.
by end of Phase 2C, is full house. Won't move onto next Phase 2C Supp, nor To Phase 3 (foreigner). Thus, Mgs primary isn't applicable to foreigner children

If your child is SC or PR -
any Methodist denomination church to join, will do.

Balloting under Phase 2C, for less than 1 km.
balloting means depend on your own luck, on actual balloting day itself, no guarantee even if shift to less than 1 km.
The answer lies in whether you have luck or not, during balloting.

you can refer to past years' historical tend (balloting)
My child is a Singapore Citizen. Thank you for the reply.

        NardNegoy:
Hello everyone. I intend to apply for this school for my daughter in a few years time, as I appreciate the values of the school, and would really appreciate some updated information from anyone who can provide me some guidance:

        1) I understand MGPS used to not have a parent volunteer scheme. Is that still the case now? I am not an ex-student, and I live 2km away. Would you recommend that I move to within 1km to increase my chances?

        2) My family and I currently attend church, but I understand that I can increase my chances in 2B by going to a Methodist church. Is there anyone with experience with regards to how this works? Can I go to any Methodist church, or is there a list of churches?

Thank you very much for your replies, I really do appreciate them. ๐Ÿ™‚

You can rent a condo within 1km of the school. Rent out your own house. Join a Methodist church. Tried and tested by my friend 3 years ago.

Forget about MGS. Itโ€™s not worth the hype.

After the June holiday, my daughter had 2 of her teachers replaced.
Science and Chinese. Being in P4, with only 4 major subjects, thats a 50% replacement rate.
And the worst part is that she has 2 Chinese teachers since July.
One Chinese teacher for Mondays to Thursdays, and another for Fridays.
There is a serious lack of care and concern for the students in MGS with such changes.

              Hi,

my girl will be entering MGS in 2017.

              Some questions for parents:

              1. There are 2 colours for the PE tees, who decides which colour to get?
              2. Which is better - the 100% cotton or the polycotton?
              3. Is the MGS jacket the only allowed jacket in campus? or are they allowed to wear their own jackets?
              4. Is LTA/TP very active along Blackmore/Old Holland Rd?

So excited about joining the school.

              Thanks in advance!!!

                Hi, welcome to MGS ๐Ÿ™‚

                1. Fine to wear either colour. No rule as to which colour to wear.

                2. I find the quality of the blue tee is better. The white tee tends to have furballs after a few washes.

                3. Own jacket or cardigan is fine as long as it is black or dark blue with no obvious logo.

                4. Yes LTA is v active along Blackmore. But the school was granted permission for parents to park along a stipulated stretch on Blackmore drive. For drop off and pick up, there is no need to park. Just go through the roundabout and drop your girl in the school campus. Traffic seems heavy but it moves v fast. Not to worry ๐Ÿ™‚

Exciting years in MGS ahead! All the best!

Isabel Rivas, currently in P6 at MGS applied for DSA (taekwondo) for MGS and was rejected. She is a 6 times national champion for taekwondo.

It seems that this school does not value talented sports people.

Hi. My DD is due for 2017 P1 registration this year. Iโ€™m an old girl and am staying in the east. I have a choice of putting her in Kong Hwa Primary which is only 2 bus stops away from my home or MGS. Iโ€™m geared towards MGS mainly for the affiliation.

                      1. Would like to seek any opinion if itโ€™s worth the journey as I understand school bus picks up around 6am daily.
                      2. Are there anyone here travelling from east to MGS? Would u mind sharing your experience? Are they on school bus or self ferried? What time do they arrive in school and back home if on school bus.

                      Appreciate.

                        I am staying at Kallang.

The school bus quoted me $250/month. Fetch at 5.50am (too early!), drop off at 2.30pm.

I decided to send her on my own. Saw many school buses reaching school at 6.20am though.
