I always wonder if it would be better/necessary to read up whole Sci text books first before going to papers..for Eng and Math, our pattern is go straight to exam/practice papers. Sci Text book last read was for last SA1. Haven't touch the Sci revision till now..i think jialat case for us yeah πŸ˜“ looks like got to start Sci immediately.

Greendale primary school starting their Term 4 SA2, very early -
      19 and 20 September : starting P3 Chinese & English Oral πŸ˜“

I m thinking of doing Yr15 past year papers and cross reference the Sci text book as and when needed. not sure if that is sufficient?

for past year papers, I guess we can skip the SA1 right?

I wonder if anywhere sells just SA2 past year paper coz I think it may be good to go for Year 14 if have time.

I wonder how other parents/kids plan on their revision 1 mth before the SA2…if only do past year papers, how many sets do you target per day?

Hi MrsKiasu, just to share, for us, we focus on weak areas first and as part of revision, work on selected questions based on those questions from various sources like past year papers. I try not to get my dd to do too many papers (as in complete an entire whole paper) in the leadup to exams to avoid being burned out and numb to doing complete sets of papers. I find my child makes more mistakes if she were to do paper after paper as the mind becomes more tired and less alert.

Guess for Sci better to read up those text book first :)..at least for my dd..this morning while she was doing the Sci paper then both of us suddenly stopped and trying to recall what is it with Platypus har? This word kept popping up when we did our revision last sem. Ended up I googled for it. Think Sci cannot skip as too many facts need to know.

Not early... My dd's friends in upper level P4 and P5 Term 4 Oral also in that same week as Greendale. My dd P3 Oral is 3 weeks after that 19 Sep one. School holiday is the best time to brush up on Oral revision.

Sembgal, how do you practice oral with your dd? Dd never practice oral before. Any online reference to have a feel? Whenever I asked her, she will tell me that she is ok.

The website from the past year papers thread by a parent is good… testgems.com

Yes, it's important to read up on the topics too, though textbook alone may not be enough. Your dd's school gave out science notes I suppose? Can combine reading materials with working on questions & practice papers to brush up on application.
