Talking about MCQs, my dd always scores better in the math Paper 1 booklet A than Paper 1 booklet B (MCQs). :scratchhead:

speed and accuracy crucial for Math MCQ booklet A.

I would be delighted if DS can get 56 /69. He seldom does, even for work at home. So far his highest record is 52/60. He can do section B better than MCQ :scratchhead:

how does he do it? it's hard to score in section B. :salute:

if my daughter can get 52 or 54 for MCQ, get 20 out of 40 for section B, I would be over the moon.

Janet, I do not know how he does it, just as I do not know why he can't do MCQ.
Happheart, my DS has a tendency of making lots of mistakes for sci MCQ too. I believe they don't read carefully and take it for granted as there are choices. This prelims he got 31/40 for sect B but only 46/60 for sect A. I saw his answers...really didn't make sense. He said they were careless mistakes himself. Every now and then he'll suffer a drop in grades due to his take it for granted attitude.

my daughter is not consistent in her Science and Math MCQ sections…both of which are crucial to pull up the overall grade.

Her other weakness is synthesis…tends to be careless with missing alphabets which is so heart pain when the answer is correct.

Chinese is her weakest subject. She tends to procrastinate on Chinese paper. Under my "nagging" and "encouragement" she manage to complete 1 set…

My DD's weakest too. But no amount of nagging/scolding can get her to do her revisions 😢 She needs to improve on Science Section B too but she is not doing anything about it till date  .

I am one of those who secretly hope the teachers will give more past year papers. Reason being my DS does not do whatever I ask him to do... teachers ask, he will guai guai do. :yikes:

Anyone here has lobang for soft copy of prelim 2016 paper? I just give to give DS a few more practice so not keen to purchase the full stack.

The P6 exam papers are out now. Many places are selling.
http://www.sgexampapers.net has the softcopy of the exam papers
Yes, kee kor. This is something that we want to help them but we cannot, right? I asked many people and most say this has to come from the child.
He lost 10 marks plainly for not reading the questions properly. Heartache 😢
