      Oh My Gosh:

Totally agreed. Even for simple addition in the Maths question, my son can also make mistake like 200 + 326 = 426?!?!
Nag for 6 years already also didn't help... haha ...
even writing the first line of the math question can be careless :stompfeet:
      units of measurement are missing.
now trying not to use correction tape...whew!

Many of us here are very heartache that the kids are losing precious marks in MCQ sections.

If only they read the entire question and not jump to conclusions  and it's so true there is nothing much we can do. The urgency to want to do well must come from the kids themselves.
nag until mouth is dry, but result is still the same.

true true... another common one is transferring the number from workings to the next line, e.g 231 become 213

It is advisable not to use correction tape, not restricted.
So I will leave it to my DS... cos I do not want him to feel helpless without the correction tape and affect his performance.

I guess it is normal for kids, especially boys.

But still, I am always amazed at kids who can get full marks for their Maths paper, even at P6.

                      http://www.seab.gov.sg/content/mediaReplies/PSLE_CorrectionTape_Forum_Reply_05072006.pdf

Based on our past experience, we found that the use of correction
fluid/tape can affect the performance of pupils and the legibility of their scripts.
                      Examples of these include:
                      • Pupils forgetting to write in their answers after applying correction
fluid, because they went on to answer other questions while waiting
for the correction fluid to dry.
                      • Pupils spending time waiting for the correction fluid to dry or
reapplying correction tape to mask their original answers, before
proceeding to answer other questions. This results in some loss of
                      time.
                      • Pupils writing answers when the correction fluid is still moist, thus
                      rendering their answers illegible.
                      • Correction fluid adhering to the opposite face of the answer script,
causing answers on the opposite face to be smudged.
                      • Correction tape causing opposite faces of the answer script to be
stuck to each other. Separating these pages during marking could
cause damage to the scripts and hence affect the legibility of
                      answers.

Maybe better not take the risk of the above happening and affect your
                      kid's result.

I will still let her bring the correction tape to the exam hall.
exam atmosphere is so intense, not the time to let her feel insecure.
