Afternoon one and all, my P6 boy found the Math paper rather reasonable and doable. He provided feedback that he had enough time to check through both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 2 is a little tougher and more tedious than previous years’ PSLE exams but on a whole there weren’t any surprises and he said that it was very manageable thanks to his math tutor’s help.

                  cream and chocolate:
ah my DD said that Q17b is 7/18

bcos she said that P+S is 1/2 of the square and P is 1/9 so S is 1/2-1/9= 9/18-2/18= 7/18 so she put final answer 7/18

                  is it correct?
My DS says P + S not equal to 1/2 of the square... 😓

We know that length is 6 cm.

                      So Area of Q and R = 1/2 x B x H = 1/2 x 6 x 6 = 18 cm sq
                      Since Q = 6 cm sq, R = 12 cm sq

                      Therefore, S = 36 - (4+6+12) = 14 cm sq

Fraction of S to Whole Figure will be 14/36 = 7/18
