My concern is how the integration will affect the sec 4 batch in 2018.


The kids will be taking their O levels and yet need to adapt to the
Bishan Park students joining them.

It is a critical year as the kids will be taking O levels.

Hope the school will have a platform to hear out concerns from both
parents and students, and see how best to address where possible.

You can voice out to the parent support group which someone here said it is a strong group. My Friend said the principal will leave as she has been in Peirce for 5 years and some Teachers may have to leave too.

Will Pierce’s standard drop after merger since Pierce is a much better school than Bishan Park ?


I understand that the Principle is a key reason for the success of Pierce. If she is to leave, what will happen ?

Hope the Principal of Peirce will see through the transition. She, together with her team of dedicated teachers and personnel has built the school and achieved a good reputation. Discipline is very good. Hope the good discipline will continue.


Share the same concern and there’s some other concern:
- will the standard drop?
- can the kids continue to wear their old uniform ie Peirce instead of buying new uniform to wear for just ONE (1) year?
- can the sec 4 kids still graduate as Peirce? Think Peirce has better reputation

Both of you made a good point about keeping up standard. I cannot understand why MOE is merging schools with vastly different cut-off points for secondary admission, eg, in the cases of Peirce-Bishan Park and Beatty-Balestier Hill. It’s simply unfair to students who had carefully made their S1 selection.


It’s a joke that MOE made students who appealed successfully but missed the cutoff point (even by 1 point) return to their original school while it is effectively allowing a backdoor entry of students into schools with far higher cutoff points through a merger.

My DS is Sec 2 Express this year. Was wondering, when do the Sec 2 choose their subject combination? over the next few days? then when will they know if they are successful? Am asking coz this friday is the last day of school.

Could someone kindly share what is the process of subjection combination selection like?

Wil the merger mean lower COP for sec 1 2018 batch?

During the open house, the principal mentioned that Peirce Sec will not be taking Sec 1 and 2 students from Bishan Park Sec. In fact, Bishan Park will not be taking in new sec 1 students from this year onward. When both school merge, only sec 3 & 4 students from Bishan Park will join Peirce Sec. Sec 1 & 2 students from Peirce Sec are students who applied for the school in 2017 and 2016 respectively. The merger will not affect the COP for Peirce Sec. Eventually when the sec 3 & 4 graduated after the merger, it will only be Peirce Sec students who applied for the school.

Not sure of the 2017 COP, but it is lower than 2016.

Yes the sch is taking in BPSS Sec 3 & 4 in 2018

The current principal is with the school for 5 years. Not sure how long more she will stay on.
