      Hi mummies,

I have another question. Thanks for help again…

Can you advise me on the music elective program? Will it affect his chance of getting into science later?

He is currently doing grade 8 piano exam. We are looking at the MEP option to see whether it’s something easy for him to do since the requirement is only pass in grade 3.

      Thanks for your advice.

Any indication on the COP for RGS this year? My Daughter scored 261 and I doubt it is good enough for RGS! Please advise. Thanks

No harm trying to put as 1st choice but must mentally accept that 2nd choice may stand 50% chance.

you can put down your 3 choices, in priority.

in some Secondary schools : Japanese is extremely hot & popular.
Even though some students put down Japanese as #1 choice, however some did not get it, MOELC posted them to another foreign language, instead.

However, u must choose your 3rd language, wisely.
            MOELC is very strict.
in the event, for whatever reasons, say, if a child is unable to cope with 3rd language chosen at end of Sec 1, the child cannot appeal to MOELC to request, \"can i have another try at another 3rd language, instead ?\"

            example
for some students, learning Japanese not easy.

at end of Sec 1 or Sec 2, some feel like giving up.
If this student appeal to MOELC, to request say, switch over from Japanese to another language ( French, eg) : MOELC won't entertain such request.

basically u need to ask, yourself : if my child acquire this 3rd language skill set, how is she / he going to apply & use it, later on ?

                Spanish : also getting popular

We wont' know what's the official COP (RGS) this year, until everyone have submitted their choices in.

in the past : RGS COP usually Cut off at 261
just put RGS inside your list, as long as your last 2 choices (#5 and #6) able to catch your daughter, esp. the last crucial choice (#6 choice)

Otherwise, if don't meet the last choice #6 COP, MOE will post the child to any school, that still have vacancies

Hi, does anyone know if there is a ‘O’ level class in RGS? If the child is not able to perform after Y1 or Y2, will she get kicked out if the school. Please advise. Thank you!

My special needs daughter scored 171, eligible for NA even though she’s been scoring single digits since P4. We were praying for at least 130. What are our chances of getting into CHIJ KC NA? It’s COP is 169…
