Yah, that's going by MOE's every school is a good school. But do make sure that most convenient school for your high ability child shouldn't be too 'ordinary' (bottom of league table kind) a school either. You can pick an O level sec school of considerable standing (e.g. strong alumni network, long history, mission/clan), if child doesn't want to travel to a far flung IP school that boasts a lot of kiasu peers and slave driver teachers. There are long-term intangible and short-term tangible benefits for those going for lowest COP.
For us we just picked the most convenient so that he can get tangible benefits like time to rest and less competitive mindsets from the kiasuparents kids.
Do you think the school makes a difference to your child's intelligence at all? or are we choosing to believe in that to convince ourselves we did something ? Our opinion is that a person's ability is restricted by his genetic make up and that is it. -

Oops. Moderator message embedded in TS post, so I thought she's the form creator. nevermind...not interested in her handle in KSP. Hope all's well with her.jetsetter:
The article mentioned Mdm Soon was tasked to create the \"form\" system.
But why did you think Belle was Mdm Soon? -

Anyone has tried online submission? Will it be jammed on the last 2 days of submission deadline?
During dd's time, we submitted online one day before the deadline and did not face any problem.
Try not to leave the submission to the last minute and factor in time to go down to your child's primary school to submit the option form in person should u face any difficulty in submitting it online.
The school will have to key in the S1 options for u and give u a verification slip, endorsed with the school stamp. -

I need an urgent advice. If my DD put her affiliated school as her 2nd choice, will she be given lower priority to those who put the affiliated school as the first choice?
If she puts it as 2nd choice, she will no longer have the affiliation advantage so she will have to meet the COP of those from non-affiliated schools.
does it mean that as long as i put affiliated school as first choice, she will get into the school?
i don't like to count chickens before they hatch...but as long as i don't see the confirmation on dec 21, i will still be worrying. -

She never indicated that she was expecting 250. That is misreporting. She had an agreement with the child that he will get his DS back (to which he was addicted to since he got it a year ago) only after he managed to get 230, which was COP he needs to get into a neighbourhood school that he wants. No, my issue is her son's SMS \"Are you angry?\" So heartbreaking.
There's no misreporting. Misreporting is when there's been erroneous facts reported.
The Golden Rule has always been \"nothing is ever off-the-record\".
Always assume, if you are near a journalist, camera or microphone, that you are on-the-record and if you don’t want to see it, hear it or read it, then don’t say it.
Why share so much details when the mic was still on? Why allowed yourself to be trailed on day of your ds' results collection when you know you'd blurt out something unwittingly? Accidental spokesperson should be aware of the prevailing norms and climate, that kiasuism is a sin; encouragement is a virtue. Why shoot yourself in the foot by sharing intimate details that can be 'exploited' or satirised by the editor? 'Come in full circle' aka 'karma' was editor's way of mocking all ksps, esp the co founder. It's been replaced by a kinder word 'milestone'.
Anyway, it's bridge under water. Trolls are busy shopping.
She had told the reporter not to report the t-scores. I have no idea how the reporter managed to cajole her into tagging along for the PSLE results; the agreement was just to get some quotes in terms of how to plan and select Secondary schools for a generic article. Unfortunately, this is the first time that she had agreed to do such interviews, so she is not as media-saavy as you have pointed out.
For that, the social media is now punishing her for her son asking if she is disappointed with his results. Her response was misconstrued to mean that the child is being punished for not meeting her expectations, instead of simply a parent taking the opportunity to wean her child from his addiction to computer games. -

the principal advised us not to submit too late in case the system hangs and the MOE will post the child to any school. in fact when hubby accessed online submission on 1st day, the system was a little slow.Twinkle2016:

As long as you meet the requirements, you are guaranteed your spot in the school.
You lose that privilege once you puto the school as 2nd choice or lower.
