Not surprised as CCHM is quite popular.

For those who are thinking of putting your kids in this school, I will say it's a good choice. Academic wise, the school is not in the top tier but your kids will enjoy the 4 years there as it has a warm and holistic environment. Overall the teachers are very caring too but of course, there will be some black sheep.

My DS made many good friends in CCHM n I can see he misses the good old days there. The boys during his time are mischievous but fun, sincere and caring buddies.

I'm not surprised at all. CCHS Main during its peak was as reputable as Chinese High School. It's got strong alumni backing, e.g. Wee Cho Yaw, Low Thia Khiang, etc. Nestled in GCB district in Goodman. Beautiful historic Zhong Zheng Lake...

        Hello all,

I am also thinking to get my boy into CCHM too. Wonder if there is any school bus schedule to pick up in Tampines.

Some secondary schools require the students to choose 1 main CCA from either Sports, Uniform Group or Performing Arts. Is there such a restriction in CCHMS? If my child is only interested in CCAs under Clubs & Societies, is it possible to just have 1 CCA under the Club & Societies category?

            Namie:
Hi. What happen to CCH students who are unable to cope with HCL? Do they get to take Chinese as 2nd language?

In Chung cheng, all students take HCL. They will sit for O level Chinese in sec 3. If they cannot cope, they can do Chinese CL2 in sec 4.
But honestly, chung cheng's chinese teachers are very nurturing and encouraging. The teachers see it as their job to teach Chinese well. So it is rare that the students cannot cope with HCL.

Unless you want to consider nearby Anglican High? This sch is on the other extreme. I went to its open house. To do HCL, students must pass a diagnostic test??!! :whut: Isnt this telling parents he school discourages HCL? To think this is Chinese background school too. :scared:

Chung Cheng High (Main) still has TD classes, just that students are able to have a choice to sign up for the programme based on their respective interests. School’s environment is very conducive for learning with a giant lake nestled in the school compound. Teachers there are warm and driven to teach. School’s results: Most subjects scored higher than national average, be it pass or distinctions. CCHMS is also very strong in their CCAs, showing that the school provides a holistic education for the students.

What happened to the DM incident? Was very keen in CCH but got really turned off by the DM incident mentioned here.

I think being strict is good but being brutal and violent is no-no for me. How times are we living in…

I went to Nan Chiau and the same thing applies. What is going on with some of the SAP schools? Only taking in the best and not even considering educating the children within the school?
