jetsetter:
There is a difference between 爱上学 和 爱上课
I agree!!ammonite:
爱上学的孩子,就是会自己起床。
(Kids who love attending school, will wake by themselves)
My boy overheard this from an auntie at the bus stop at 6.15am in the morning.
Some pp like to go to school to play with their friends, participate in CCA...
Lol, good distinction between the two!
I think the social part is just as important if not more. One can always take care of the academic part in other ways, it is the people that you cannot separate from the school. -

I also agreed leh....I used to wake up at 5.30am prepare breakfast for my younger brother and then rushed off to take the 1st bus. Challenged with my best friend to be the first to reach school. Clean the classroom and helped the canteen lady. Sometime even revise school work with best friend. It was so much fun then.

If my gal has 252 and does it matter whether I put our chosen sch eg Cedar IP (cutoff254) first choice or fourth choice?
Thanks. -

a bit risky to put cedar as first choice as its cut off is 254. safer to put a school which has a lower cut off than the child's score. If my gal has 252 and does it matter whether I put our chosen sch eg Cedar IP (cutoff254) first choice or fourth choice?
Thanks. -

Psle score is your queue number. So imagine all the post-psle kids in a long queue, starting from highest score to lowest. If my gal has 252 and does it matter whether I put our chosen sch eg Cedar IP (cutoff254) first choice or fourth choice?
Thanks.
When it is your turn, the system will then run through your 6 choices in order of the preference listed. So if Cedar is your first preference, put right on top. If Cedar still has a vacancy, it will be given to you. If it has no more vacancies, the system will move to your second choice and check if there are vacancies. If there is, that will be allotted to you and the system move on to the next student in queue. If there isn't, the system move on to your next choice and does the same again. -
Will it happen if I meet the school COP but I don’t get in?
-
We have not submitted our choices yet. So stressed by this school selection exercise. :?:

The actual COP is determined by each cohort. Last year's COP is just a guide for u and this year's COP will be determined by the student who gets the very last vacancy this year. The system will just keep allocating until the school is filled.
One common advice is to pick two schools that are slightly above your COP (e.g. 2-3 marks above), 2 schools that are your range, and 2 slightly below. Do list in order of preference because the system will check in that order. Once it finds a vacancy for you, it will stop going through your list and move on to the next student.
