It all depends on suitability of school for child. Some kids relish the limelight, some kids just want to be normal folks.

Plus sec 1 is a new starting point. Kids with score that meet just the cop may raise to the top too and opportunities will open to those suitable.
Agree. In fact, I think most kids are more passive n choose to be normal folks...but I could be wrong.

And sec school is a brand new battle...it is possible for one to do better in the new subjects vs some of the higher PSLE scorers and sometimes, one only need to be very good in just one or two subjects for opportunity to come knocking. ...you'll nebber know. ..

Hi jedamum, you have been very helpful! Thanks! Yes, can only choose one language from each cat. We put only one choice. If not allocated, that’s fine, as DS is not keen in other cat. Thanks again!

I have always wondered why MOE takes more than a month to publish the Sec 1 posting results. Any computer can churn out the results in an instant......

It doesn't take that long, they just don't want us to have time to appeal.

The problem is we are left with too little time to prepare for Sec 1.....opens in a week's time!

It's not just the time for practical preparations but also mental preparations, especially for those who end up with a school choice that they weren't expecting.

Not only is it a mad rush but means that you can't go away for a break over Christmas either. My husband can only take leave in the last two weeks of the year so this year and again when my two boys take their PSLE, we can't go anywhere.

We are going away after the sec reporting. No time to react to anything πŸ˜“

Didn't you read some ksps' dc were already reading up their Yr 1 notes immediately after SA2 ended? Those who didn't know if their kids qualified for N Level, O level or IP or NUSH cannot start reading (read \"preparing\") earlier. πŸ˜†

I really dun understand what's the fuss about... Wasn't the timeline like that when you were in P6? Did you guys have enough time to prepare for S1?
