Parents whose DS are in HCI, based on experience, how many sets of uniforms and PE shirts are recommended?
-
i bought 3 sets of white shirt and khaki shorts, 2 sets of PE tshirt/black HCI shorts.
White shirt/ khaki shorts have to be worn everyday except Friday - when you can wear PE / approved school t (can be CCA, class T) with khaki shorts. The boys have to bring their PE attire (PE t shirt and black HCI shorts) to change before PE lessons. -
Depends on the CCA. Initially I bought the same number as lexis. But by end of Sec 1, I had to buy additional 2 sets of PE cos my boyβs CCA train 3 times a week. As I work and donβt have a helper, I donβt have the time to wash every day.

Not yet Lexisi did the same as CatMoon for my son - so far so good, the buttons lasted for the entire 3 years.
Next year, time to upgrade to long pants. Anyone has gone down to buy the s4 texts and uniform yet?

I agree that 3 sets of uniforms are enough (I just counted mine, I had 3 as well
)
PE Shirts and Shorts are a different matter though. Really depends from child to child. Like what CatMoon said, it depends on CCA trainings a week. During holidays some CCAs require students to come back for camps, where they might require to wear 3-4 PE shirts. Another example would be how some students like to stay back to play sports, so they need more PE shirts than others.
I would buy 3 sets of PE, since Orientation (from what I heard) is 5 days long, so better to stock up
Hope this helps! -

Noted. :thankyou: Hwachie and CatMom
I've actually sewn them on and I put the shirts in the laundry bag before putting them in the washing machine. So far, the buttons did not become rusty.hwachie:
Hey guys, I am a former Hwa Chong student; I graduated from high school recently
Our school uniform (for Sec 1 to Sec 3) comes with the metallic buttons attached. The buttons can be taken on and off everyday quite easily (roughly 4 minutes will do; 2 or even 1 if you become an expert at it
). Some parents choose to sew it on to prevent the hassle, but buttons may become rusty, so I stuck with the former method.

May I check if those \"O\" levels Physics and Chemistry is to be used only for Sec 1?
A bit scary to use \"O\" levels textbook at Sec 1 :stompfeet: -
Those books can be used all the way till Year 4 (same book appears in Sec 4 booklist).

Phew! Do you know which topics of Physics/ Chemistry is covered in Sec 1/2?
DS is weaker in Science and he wants to read through the textbook before school reopens.
But I am worried he end up hating Physics/ Chemistry more if he is to bury into all the Chapters. Haha... -
