      In both cases they mention exposed wire / not installed properly. I admit I never really think about all these... turning on water heater is like flushing toilet to me...


      In this case, it is not a product problem. It's an installation problem.

      Most likely. Either it wasn't install properly or something came loose over time.

              For tsunami, the advice is Run Upward and Away from the sea.

                I think it is not the first case reported
                Btw, there seemed no mention whether is an instant or storage heater
                In my previous house, there was a time I can feel that the water from the shower has small electric current. The water was like giving pins & needles on my whole body. I freaked out. We didn't use that bathroom anymore until we got a new water heater storage installed. The technician told us the water heater storage was leaking. There was no sign of water leakages and that water heater was less than 2 years old. How to find out?
