Erm Chem is not. I've checked through the Sec 2 subject combination slides(on secondary school website) and there appears to be Single pure in the school.

Hmm I have a classmate who once in a while takes the bus after school. I'll be dead honest, I've no idea if it's school bus or not, but not public bus since she always rushes for the bus when she takes it(I think it's school bus in fact.)

Yes my daughter does that too. : ) But need to inform the school bus Aunty ahead of time, otherwise the bus is full.

Once my daughter was late (during primary school), the school bus uncle & aunty went to pick another little girl and then came back to pick my daughter. I appreciate their kind gesture.

(IP class more than O level class, by one more class)

for IP class (at St Nick) -
In Sec 1 : they spent maybe Term 2 in Pure Physics, or spent Term 3 in Chemistry, or spent Term 4 in Bio.
Each Term, they just focussed on one Science area.
Sec 1 : they learn the basic, essential, fundamental Scientific principle, first.


Sec 2 : they start to apply the principles taught (learnt) in Sec 1, into mini project.

In Sec 2, when they split up to work on mini group, or assigned teamwork Science projects, their project càn be multi-disciplined.
Example
Science project 1 : can involve application principle of both (Physics & Chemistry) concept taught

Or

Science project 2 : can involve application principle of both (Bio & Chemistry), concept taught.
Means allowed, or can combine different areas of Sciences.
St Nick is flexible, in this aspect.

Also, as the students work on lower Secondary project, they begin to discover :
Which field of Science are they (themselves), really more interested in ?
Is it Physics that they more interested in, or Chem, or Bio ?
Then come to Year 5 subject combination, maximum they only allowed to chooose 2 Science H2 subjects for GCE A level, they will know which are the 2, to specialize in, which to drop ?

This is unlike some other IP Sec school curriculum, where they very strict, don't allow different combination of Sciences.
Eg : they insist must be a pure Physics, or pure Chem, or pure Bio project.
No inter mixing allowed.


in IP curriculum (at St nick) :
they also start to bring down about 10% of A level pure (Chem / Physics / Bio), into (Sec 3 & 4) curriculum.
10% is not much.
In this regard, although 10% not much, but at least IP students get exposed to first, learn more than O level students.

But start to bring down into (Sec 3 & 4) curriculum, so that when they do Year 5 A level, some of the terminology used in Pure Science is not new to them anymore, as they have been taught before (10%), sounds familiar to them.

As for subject Maths :
IP Tr start to teach a bit of A level Maths topic like Combination, Permutation, etc down to IP (Sec 3 & 4) level.


So, during Secondary school Open house visiting, one may ask those IP Tr, standing at the booth of their respective Sec school
- what is the %tage of A level curriculum like roughly, brought down to Sec 3 / 4 level ?

- for Science mini group projects, how they teach, or impart scientific principles, to IP students ?

Although there are a few IP Secondary schools around, but every school IP curriculum in terms of syllabus, lesson structure planning, differ.
Besides, school fees also a big difference too ($300 vs less than $30, per month)

For eg : if go Cedar IP or RGS IP, the way they design their IP curriculum, may be different.

It is actually term 1, term 2 and term 3 when each of the science subjects are taught, since we have a rather early shedule for exam in comparision(so only about 3 weeks before exams, in comparison to mostly 4-5 weeks of term 4 before exams in most other schools.) For term 4, the O level pupils have each week assigned for each science. This may or may not be the same for IP, however. (The front part is the same, according to my IP friends, although, their order is different.)

For IP, these projects for sciences are also done in Sec 1. For example, according to my friend, they had this projects where they have to design a boat which could stay afloat in the water under the most amounts of weights and they had a mini comp. on it (something along those lines at least.)

(I'm trying to find some information on the forum and came across this, felt like there was a need to explain looking back.) I do apologise for making this question sound in some sense, badly.

Firstly, that question was posted before posting results were released, in fact before results were even realised. I'm a person who panicks under stress, and PSLE is something which there isn't a second chance, it's gonna decide the secondary school I go for the most part. I was also rather sure I could have done slightly better, since after checking answers with my friends, I realised a messed up at many places I should not have.

Ok, let me explain why I asked this question.
I know people in other schools of the same range. She scored slightly above the cop, and she's one of the top in her class, which is the best class in the level. Now let's think about how this is possible. There are MANY who scores the same T score, the difference is just the decimals. Could it be because, most people who enter, are just within the 1-3 marks above cop range? And the others are mostly from DSA or affilates? This is rather reasonable, in my opinion at least.
Thus, I went to ask about this here. I'd like to mention that I know for a matter of fact that, the best classes get a lot of benefit, so if I'd like to ask about my chances of getting in. Of course, my question was not very well understood but at that point after looking at many pros and cons, I had decided that that would be my first choice, if I scored somewhat as expected, thus I didn't see a need to explain.
As a matter of fact, I was not too much off. The lowest in terms of T score in D and F, which are the 'best' classes(though not emphasised), was actually 253, which is indeed the cop for our year. However, there's the handful of us who achieved the cop but were placed in the class which is just 'under' D and F(I'd like to mention that although we are split by results, none had more benefits than the others which I found surprising.), probably missing by 'decimals' too.

I forgot to mention, some of the scholars in faith which I mentioned were transferred from justice to faith came back. I'm not too sure if there are still any in Faith or Diligence, but I know there are in Justice and Charity. Though I'm 90% sure the best classes are D&F, middle classes are C&J, last classes are H&G, there hasn't been anything about it enphasised which I was surprised about. Usually the best classes would have much more 'benefits'.

if you had met the Cut-off-point but miss out by decimal points, can ask them what is your chance(s) of appeal ?


overall this year, there had been a slight dip in Cut-off-point, for popular Secondary schools
