Which do you all think are the subjects with the biggest jump in level of difficulty from P3 to P4?

Inside your P4 SA1 school report card next year (collect around 2017 end of May) :
the one that have the widest standard deviation swing, & often come with a Low average cohort mean -
is the subject that your P4 cohort tend to have problem understanding , in your school.

Perhaps that subject had not been taught adequately, in your school. As we know, some Teachers or even some HOD are lazy. Every school fall into a certain neighbourhood. But, the standard of each neighbourhood primary school, differs.

Each primary school's cohort results are different, u may refer your report card to check, next year.


What about jump in difficulty,
from P4 to P5 ?
The jump in difficulty, is much greater.
usually Is Maths or Chinese, or can be both.
That's when they start to offer Foundation Maths, or Foundation Chinese / Malay, to selected P5 students.
a number of primary schools offer P5 Foundation Chinese.
eg
some CHIJ schools, Angsana, Chongfu, Dazhong, Raffles Girls (Rgps), SCGS, Elias Park, Keming, etc


some schools offer P5 Foundation Maths.
eg
Clementi primary, Rgps, SCGS, Mayflower, Chongfu, Marymount Convent, CHIJ Kellock, CHIJ Katong, CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC), Angsana, Fuhua, Dazhong, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian, Elias Park, Keming primary, etc


a few schools offer P5 Foundation Science.

Rgps, MGS, SCGS, CHIJ OLGC, CHIJ Kellock, CHIJ Katong, Fuhua, Chongfu, Dazhong, Mayflower, Kuo Chuan Presbyterian, Elias Park, Keming, etc



some schools offer P5 Foundation English.

Zhenghua primary, Fuhua, Mayflower, Marymount, CHIJ Kellock, Keming, etc

don't mind me stepping in....but the biggest jump in difficulty would be from p4 to p5 and also gets a little tougher from p5 to p6 because there are new topics to be taught as well as revising for psle.

Agree with janet88. The jump from p3 to p4 is nothing compared to the jump from p4 to p5. Of course, every subject will increase in level of difficulty and depending on the child's core strength in the subject will determine how much effort the child needs to put in to bridge the gap from p3 to p4.

Yes..... and also 3 out of 6 pri school years has passed...... cringe at the thought that they will be taking psle in 3 years time next.... feels like they have registered for p1 not too long ago only....
