For those who are considering the poly diploma route , poly open house this weekend, 5 - 7 Jan 2017. For those who miss the Open House, there's JAE counselling next week after the O level results.

Very important to know what students are in for before they apply. It's not a case of \"because I like animals/dogs..., so I want to join vet science or I like cooking so I am going to join culinary arts\". Being interested is one thing, staying committed is another.

My son is getting really worried as Wed approaches. Hopefully he can get into the course he’s been eyeing on. He went down to the open house on Thursday to decide for sure what his 1st choice will be.

Hi, anyone know if parents are allowed to accompany children to school to collect O Levels results on 11 Jan 2017 ?

Parents are allowed to accompany their kids to collect the results but most of the time, the kids don't want their parents to be hanging around in school. This is very different from PSLE.

            😄

Is there a separate thread to update this year’s schools O level performance? Maybe somethng similar to the one on PSLE result.

i offered to accompany my son to receive his results. he told me NO...but will call me asap.
even my mum said i was nuts to go with him.

he is feeling a little moody since last week....but like what i told my girl, what's done is done.

Hopefully with eunoia Jc coming into the list, entrance to other better JCs will be easier.

with the introduction of IP programs, there is lesser competition for kids who took o levels....but this batch is the dragon year (2000), so pressure is still there for courses. son's biggest worry is not being able to get into the poly course of his interest.

If u follow your son to collect O level results, & his classmates see his mommy with him, they will laugh at him, call him a mommy's boy. That's why they don't want their mom to follow them, collect O level results

Is a different scenario, from collecting psle results

Teenagers value their face a great deal. At 12, accompanying them to collect results was parental support…but at 16, they won’t want us around anymore.
