Does anyone know how the girls are assigned their classes in sec 1? Is it based on psle results? Or are the classes \"mixed ability\"? I know 1/7 is the MEP class. What about the other classes?

Hi. I am an ex-tkgian, and graduated about 3 years ago. At that time, we had 8 classes, means from 1/1-1/8, and during my batch, although we weren't told, I think the classes were banded according to your strongest subject.

1/1 - considered the best class in my cohort
1/2-1/5 - banded according to your strongest subject (according to result in PSLE), English, Mathematics, Science or Mother Tongue (but i am unsure of the order)
        1/6 - (not very sure)
        1/7 & 1/8 - MEP classes

This was what we realised after studying for a year or so in TKGS, especially in Sec 2 when subject combination came into the picture. I am not sure if it has changed, or if this is absolutely accurate as generally will not tell you how the classes were allocated

Hope that the time spent in TKGS will be enjoyable! šŸ˜„

          Thanks sh3398... appreciate that.

This year they have only 6 classes of 40 girls. So I'm guessing 1/6 is the MEP class... yeah... in a way it's good that the school does not want to state outright... I can understand that. I was curious cos I know of girls with a variety of tscores and some girls in 1/3 have lower scores than those in 1/4 etc.

          Thanks again! šŸ™‚

My niece is from this school, she is in the upper Sec. Based on what she has said, the classes T-Score are mixed, 1/4 will have lower T-score than 1/2 or 1/3 or 1/6 or the other way round. The classes are allocated based on their strongest subject. They were not informed at all but they have managed to find out by themselves based on their subjects performance in school. Not sure those with MEP is allocated to which class though.
