For these affiliation schools, does it mean that the students can get another 2 bonus pts on top of the 4 bonus pts from their CCAs, etc? Meaning-- if a student from acs scores 12pts, can he minus 4 from CCAs and minus another 2 pts from affiliation totaling to nett 6 for acjc admission?

Hi friends, I need some help. My daughter has scored L1R5: 3points (7-4) in O level. She wants to apply ACSI for IB or Victoria for A level. Some people advised us, if we have to go overseas for university, then asked us to choose IB. But we have no plan to send overseas for degree and we will choose local university only. If we choose IB from ACSI, Do we get the same chances as A level students? Thanks in advance.

Should not be an issue with IB for local Uni. Other than ACSI can also consider SJI.

people often say that after RI /HCI, VJC & NJC are ranked 3rd.


But actually between VJC & NJC (these two JCs), who is really ranked 3rd, in terms of recent past 2 or 3 years A level
Results ?

(don’t think both JCs tie for the same rank, #3. One must have performed better, than the other)

Hi everyone dd loves to overthink about things so recently she is thinking of subject combinations and I don't know if it's too early to think about this ( she has not even submitted her choices! ) but should dd choose biology or physics ? She is very conflicted between the two of them . She says she is most probably going to do the typical pcme/bcme

Ask your daughter suppose she already finished her A level now, want to choose her career path : which university faculty or course does she want to study, & work towards her future goal ? Then she will know which h2 subject to choose, between physics or bio. This will be her compass direction, what subject combination, to take.


She must know what is her long term target destination. She is already 16 years old, quite big, have a rough idea what she want to do with her life.

She mostly wants something that has to do with science but not anything specific ,I know that she would love to do medicine but I think it would most probably end up as just a dream. Dd is still more or less confused with life .. She just told me she wants to be a police :faint: . My elder dd is now doing a job almost totally different from what she studied so I guess it influenced younger dd to not think too much about the future as it might be very unpredictable .

Her predicament is not unusual. Many students do not know what they would like to study in the uni at 16. If that's the case, choosing a combination that opens up more doors is something to consider. If she intends to study in the local unis, Physics is listed as a requirement in more courses than Bio. Something to think about. Is there one she enjoys better?
