1. What is ArtScience, Design THinking and World&Me? Do students need to be "selected" for these programs or does EVERY boy get to do all these in Year 3-4?
2. Is it tough to get into Triple Science class? (It’s not that my son wants to be a doctor. I know even if you want to get into Medicine, you don’t need Triple Science anymore. But he is no good in humanities but loves sciences.)

My ds is in Sec 4 IP and maybe I can answer your second question.
The teacher actually recommend students to take double science and double humanities instead of triple science. The reason is IB needs at least 1 humanities and I think O level as well. Therefore it is very risky if you took only 1 humanities (eg. History) and realized you don’t do well/lost interest in that subject, which may pull down your overall score in the end.
It is not hard to get into Triple science class.

I think IP students in Sec 3 need to choose either ArtScience or Design Thinking. In Sec 4, they will need to do World and Me,

Usually the Triple Science is consider one of the most competitive combo package to enter especially for the O Level Classes. Base on today situation, it is not necessary to have triple Science to do a medical degree program in the university.

Also would like to seek parents with Kids in Sec 3 now how would be the promotion criteria if they are in Sec 3? We all know that if the kid do not perform well meet the promotion criteria (IP), the outcome would be as follow:

(1) Retain another year in Sec 3 (IP)
(2) The school ask the student to exit out the gate of SJI?

Any suggestion on the selection of cca? Is it on first come first served basis? Any parent has son in NCC land? Seem like a popular choice among the boys, is it difficult to get in?
