a fact is a fact. when you can't remember don't assume others can't!woodgrove:
yes i can remember that HCJC Science for 1984 and 1985 respectively was 8 and 7 respectively. VJC and RJC was around 10.
Lets not based on individual memories of 30+ years ago..... -
stetan:
Why not? I still remember my primary 6 prelim exam results! LOL...
Oh. So its just hearsay? And you sure have elephant memory, even remebering COP of junior colleges 30+ years agoFanFanX:
No source. Heard from those people who entered.
Those days MOE does not release COP data of JC. -

I would not like to boast here like you do...but if you really want to know, I will say that I am definitely more successful than you are.
During my time, VJC was also among the top schools as what you have said \"already the top FEW colleges\". I consider myself relatively successful, so are my peers and seniors from VJC. How about you?
.mindays:
I am not sure what tree you are barking up at. The discussion with FanXFanx was whether the students are brilliant...then you budged in and claimed that you are a professional accountant and how successful you are. Hence my question to you was, do you consider yourself brilliant .When VJC first started out, it was among the top 5 based on cut off point. I am not denying that fact that EJC's COP of 9 (the end of the spectrum of a single digit) is bad, in fact, it is not bad. The COP ranking shows that EJC is placed among the 7th to 11th (along side with AJC, SAJC and TJC) out of the 18 JCs (excluding DHS, RVHS, ACSI and SJI). Highly respectable for its pioneer batch, do you consider them as brilliants? (Using the same tone you used) RJC COP was comparable to VJC during my time, 10 to 11.
On a side note, please do start bringing comparison to this thread like what you did to the NYJC thread. The people here are really for true constructive discussion and not \"my JC is better than you JC\" kind of discussion.
Appreciate you could just stick to the NYJC thread if this is your motive -
mindays:
I am very sure that RJC's COP was not the top during my time. In fact, Chinese High was first. RJ and NJ alongside with VJ were among the next few choices.
OK. You are always sure of everthing...including 100% eligibility rate

How else do you want the people here to substantiate? We just provide what we know of, to the best intentions. Its not right to deter voices from people, though I understand you are from RJ, it just reflects the attitude and character of you and your school.
I am surprised hearing this from a professional accountant. If your CEO asked you what was the total Liabilities in 1984, do you say \"I think I remember to the best of my intentions that it was $xxx\" :rotflmao: Surely your CEO will blow its top, maybe even give you the sack. Don't accountants rely on facts as well ?stetan:

Please do not get personal and start attacking people and their school if you are unable substantiate your statements with facts . In our discussion, I certainly did not attack your character and your VJC. To use your own words ' It just reflect the character and attitude of you and your school\".
Please do not cause this EJC thread to degenerate into another NYJC thread. If you have nothing constructive to contribute, I would respectively request your leave this EJC thread alone....in short - leave -

a fact is a fact. when you can't remember don't assume others can't!
So is it a fact or based on your memory ? If it is a fact, surely you can substantiate it with references ? Is that a difficult request to ask for ?stetan:

it is a fact because i experienced it. period.

Why unbelievable ? I too find English easy compare to Add Maths or Physics. You did not get A1 does not mean others are not capable of.
English*
It is unbelievable to say that getting A1 for English is not difficult.
Please remember that \"O\" level also follows a bell curve. In different yeasr, the paper may be more easy or difficult but there will certainly be a percentage of students who score A1 -

As a personal experience ?
