However, do recognize that not all kids can take the rigors of TLL’s fast pace workload. Good to start early @ TLL, like in P3 or P4. If ure putting a child struggling to ustand concepts, do hv realistic expectations owise the child will feel overwhelmed & react in their own ways. I know a kid will hv fever every time maths come ard & ano have severe headaches but hospital found nothing to diagnose after many consultations in the year, MRI & hysteria in year-end exams. Impt thing they must enjoy their classes, owise find a coach that yr child can develop good chemistry & enjoy learning & doing the Math practices. Just my 2-cents. So, don’t clobber me sharing this.

TLL only need verbal confirmation of result for my kid case. Mind Stretcher wants hardcopy evident of my kid result when we enquire about a class that happens to be high ability class.

any recommendation for good math tutor or center? need one urgently. thanks

              hi

can try simplysmartedu center, smartlab, oodles
the track record of 1st two centres seem good.
for oodles, my child is in, the fee is not cheap, $66 per 2hr lesson (only math paper 2).
her math has improved, at least no need me to guide thru most qns of problem sum.

It’s commercial bz after all. They only asks to see results & claim will put yr kid in appropriate ability class.

Ano perspective : S’times its parents who pushes the teachers to give more (more. Intact hours, more practices, …) kids can express their protest so came out in so many physical manifestations. I know a mum ‘pleaded’ for both school subjs teachers to coach more during recess & after school (Math, Eng, Sc & MT) as well as TLL Math. Later coz serious manifestation & w/drawn fr TLL & no other teachers going ‘touch’ this boy. Sad.

Try Academia at Sin Ming Plaza II. Look for Sherman, an excellent English teacher formerly taught at NYP.

Can also try Writers’@Work (WOW) @ King’s Arcade 2nd level (branch @ Clementi Ave 2. Look for Ms Agnes. They run both Compo Witing & regulars English curriculum. I can’t connect on other teachers in same centre. My DS had good experience & cold write v well selected for MOE Creative Writing Programme. We later switch to Academia coz need DS to focus on S&T & Open ended Compre. Don’t need anymore compo. But at WOW, u can select to do both or just either English or do only compo writing
