Hi,
I’m new to the forum. Any recommendation about ballet school for my daughter age 7? She did ballet for the past 3 years but the school is very inconsistent with their teachers. I need to transfer to another school after her Grade 1 exam in April. Preferably in central area, do appreciate recommendations.
thank you. -
Can anyone recommend a good teacher or school in East area for week days ? My girl is 5 and she used to train under a extremely good Russian teacher but sadly she went bk . I went to all CC n seems like all have only weekend class which hubby say no.class on weekend . I tried ballet n music but was appalled after 4 term as they keep switching teachers permanently on short notice . Please do give recommendation if there is any .. Also looking for hip hop teachers .. Tia

My girl is currently with Ms Blue at Simei CC. She is teaching various grades and have a variety of days there. If I am not wrong, your daughter should be in Pre-primary level and I know she teaches this grade on Fri. You may want to call the CC directly to check though. -
Hello, vfong!
Have you considered sending your child to the Singapore Ballet Academy? Not only is the Singapore Ballet Academy an old name in classical dance training in Singapore, but also one of the main feeder ballet institutions in Singapore for the Singapore Dance Theatre / SDT. They've also got a whole line-up of programmes for children of all ages to take part in during the school holis - my pri schoolmates who did ballet trained at SBA during their younger days and one girl eventually took her dance professional with SDT.
The school is founded by Frances Poh, Vernon Martinus and Soonee Goh following the amalgamation of two popular ballet schools - The Malaya School of Ballet and the Frances School of Dancing. You can read up about the school on the SDT's website http://www.singaporedancetheatre.com/sba/ or hop over to the school's website http://www.singaporeballetacademy.com.sg.
Overall, I'd say the Singapore Ballet Academy is an old ballet institution - expect nothing fancy out of the entire place in terms of ID and decor, but passionate professional teachers and a conducive training environment for parents wanting their children to turn professional.
BTW, SBA's conducting a ballet audition for Nursey and Kindergarten-level kids. Check out this info: http://singaporeballetacademy.com.sg/2017-ballet-auditions-children/
Hope this helps! And jiayou in your search for a good ballet school. -
Hi sc_nah
You may also want to try school of dance which just moved to Chai Chee too. A few friends' kids are doing weekday night lessons there.
