Our turn next year. šŸ˜“

Hope JCs will be more open in reporting their A Level results this year.

FF, we have to cross the PW hurdle first. šŸ˜‰

I feel that the trend is now reverse - JCs no longer will give much details except that their cohort did well, blah blah blah.
Just wondering if A level results will be released next Fri?

MOE website states tentatively from 24-28 Feb.

I think it is likely to be on 24 Feb and the press release will be tomorrow. This is based on the trend for the past few national exams, the results have been released on the first day of the declared tentative dates.

          Bingo!

Press release - A level results will be out next fri, Feb 24.

It seems MOE is quite predictable!!!!

          šŸ˜„
I believe the first day of the declared tentative dates is the intended date, the tentative dates are given as a contingency. However, there is a change in the date of the press release. For the 2015 PSLE result press release, it was announced 5 days in advance, this was extended to 7 days for the 2016 PSLE press release. In fact, I remembered press release used to be announced only 3 days in advance (perhaps many years ago), and was announced only after 3pm.

:thankyou: Gisten for your reply. Are they allowed to change the group?
According to DD, they are not allowed to change their assigned PW group.

2017 Release of A Level Results will include the release of H1 Mother Tongue (Chinese, Malay, Tamil) of the current J2s. PW results are usually released a month or two later. Good luck to all students.

I think some JCs are quicker in reporting their low COP than their A Level results.
All JCs have to report their COP, be it low or high. That's because the new MOE system indicates that students who wish to appeal to a college have to meet the colleges' COP. In this case, the prompt release of COP will facilitate the appeal process.

Also, JCs that have through train programme (IP 6 years), will more likely report their results. IMO, surely after 6 years of education, there must be some form of accountability. Nevertheless, from my observations, JCs that consistently release their A level results (at least some parts) are: RJC, HCI, DHS, RVHS, MJC, VJC. There are in fact very few JCs that release their results, on that I agree with you.

                        rains:

Incidentally, I was talking to an ex-IPJC lecturer/tutor and I asked her the question:

Who are usually the ones at the bottom of the cohort at A levels in terms of results ie. the IP or JAE students?

Surprisingly, she said it's the IP students. Her reason: IP students go in via PSLE results and along the way, for some reason, they may not be suitable for the school, especially at JC level, be it culture, curriculum or other things I have no idea about.

The JAE students enter the IPJC using their O levels results which require them to get 2 or 3 points for entry. They are the cream of the crop, so naturally, they tend to do well at A levels as well.

She also mentioned that at the beginning stage of JC1, JAE students tend to do better as they are more exam-smart, but after the transition period, there is no difference in the performance between the IP and JAE students generally.

I am no expert in the topic. Just happened to chance upon this post and thought I could share what was shared with me.
Well, it depends on how 'ex' this IPJC teacher is. She may not be updated in her information.
In the past, not many who qualified for IP would choose the IP path as IP was new and there were uncertainties. Hence many 'cream of the PSLE crop' will still be in the JAE cohort. But these days, most top PSLE students will prefer IP over O levels path.
Morever, I feel that the curriculum of IP these days are geared towards advanced learning. Some are taught GP at Y1/2. Some are to choose their A levels subject combination in Y3 and most are taught A level math in Y3/4. As such, JAE pupils are likely to fall behind their fella JC IP mates, with perhaps the exception of some DSAed IP students.
                        Just my 2 cents worth.
