Congratulations to everyone whose child received good grades yesterday! As parents I think the most important thing is that regardless of how well or poorly our child has done, we should still be proud and reward and encourage them for the effort and work they put in and the time they have sacrificed.
That said while I am proud of my daughter's results, I'm a bit worried about her uni application because compared to previous years, her results have fallen short of the NUS business criteria. And since right now we can't change her grades (she can't retake her H1 since she doesn't have NS), we are looking at the application process..
My question is what's the application process like and also the interview for NUS business or other courses? And also more specifically how important is the personal statements for the uni applications?
Thank you!
Randy :thankyou: -
Can someone please enlighten me if DS can apply to more than 1 course in each university? TIA

Yes, it will be good if your DS maximises his choice! All the best -
I’ve noticed DHS has been rather quiet this year. There’s no update of 2016 A Level results on the school website (its still showing 2015 results). DHS forum @ KSP is also very quiet after the release of A Level results (unlike past years).
DHS has always been in close ‘fight’ with NJC for 4th place, hence the school has always been very prompt in reporting her A Level results. Or so I thot… -

DHS 2016 A level batch had done better than the previous year...
I do not have the statistics with me ( since my gal alrdy grad from the sch) but feedback from junior ... overall % of distinctions improved in individual H2 subjs...with H2 Geog being the most Impressive...91%
I also wonder why they havent update the sch website...Let's wait for more info to be uploaded... -
Pretty sure DHS is past 4th place with this year’s results. If it’s anything, it’s 3rd.

DHS has been consistently producing good A level results so I won't be surprised.
Congrats to the 2016 cohort !!!!!

Would your DS rather forgo a place in local university for a private one as only the latter offers him his first choice course? Please share. TIA.

Speaking for myself only.
Points of consideration:
1) does that first choice course lead to a desired career and is that door closed if he goes to the local university to do other courses?
2) is that private university accepted by PMO (long ago, I was told that this is the benchmark for employers - if PMO don't recognize, then many employers may not)
3) Finances - is it a concern?
Good luck with your ds choices!
