Is SP your DS' 1st choice Poly, the one that you've always hoped he would get into ? Of course, if SP had accepted your DS' application via JAE Appeal instead of DAE, it would have saved you (& DS) a lot of anxiety & waiting. Neverthesss, it's better late than never. I'm sure your DS will treasure this long-awaited offer from SP more, compared to if it had come by more easily.

Cheers to a new chapter for you & DS !! :celebrate:

you are right. it was a big mistake made on our part not to put SP as the first choice...or son would have been spared the agony of going through DAE appeal. he wanted infocomm but ultimately he found the syllabus of engineering more appealing. i am also very happy and relieved the DAE appeal was successful.
hope he treasures his offer even more.

Janet , can share which poly infocomm did ur ds applied earlier ?
How many choices n polytechnic can one apply via DAE?

Applied for RP infocomm via DAE.
for DAE, RP online application can apply up to 4 courses...there are 3 phases. we applied under phase 1 (feb 11-14), so the result for phase 1 is out March 1. for 2nd phase, result is out end March and 3rd phase result out in April.
not too sure about the other poly.

Best of luck to your dd, slmkhoo. Interesting courses and looks like suit her. Writing, like her mommy šŸ˜„

She likes writing her own stuff (fiction), and is usually resistant to writing things that other people tell her to write (like essays). I hope, if she get into the course, that she will be prepared to learn and practice writing other types of material as required. Me, I'm no good at fiction - not enough imagination!

Engineering choice is way better than Infocomm, in terms of future career option.

Initially, worried that her son stuck in MI (Commerce stream, allocated) Based on her son's interest, he is more towards Sciences field, more hands-on approach.

Worried, because if he were to re-apply for Polytechnic next year, Or
if he were to sit for IGCSE exam as a private candidate in some subjects : the IGCSE Syllabus exam is different from our GCE O level exam syllabus, for the same subject.

Also learnt a lot, from Janet son's experience : choosing between Polytechnic route vs. Choosing A level route

Now, Very happy for Janet & her son.
                        Warmest, heartiest Congratulations šŸ™‚

                        Thank God, is over.
