2019 P1 Registration Exercise for 2020 In-take
-
I stay within 1-2km of both Mee Toh and Holy Innocent, my girl is born in 2013.
I'm considering to register for PV for one of the above schools, may I know how difficult is it to successfully become PV of these 2 schools?
Is interview needed and what questions are usually asked? Will I get a higher chance if I register early?
I'm pretty new to kiasuparents, appreciate your attention and any reply.

check-in! my son was born in 2013 and we are now starting looking for information on school and PV…
-
Rachel and Elaine, good steps to begin the enquiry with the relevant schools, and request for details of the PV coordinators if they have PV. All the best!

Hi everyone! Checking in here. #1 born in 2013.
Is PV application already started this year?? Gasp I thought I have one more year to go.
I am staying within 1km of Nanhua primary and Qifa Primary.
Initially, I plan to register at NH but looking at the statistics it looks very competitive and I am also afraid of the requirement to do higher Chinese in NH. Can anyone share with me what are the advantages of doing higher Chinese?
Any feedback on Qifa primary?
Alternatively, I am thinking of applying for PV at Fairfield Methodist but I am >2km away, what are the chances?
Many thanks for your advices! -

Hello all… I’m new here… just signed up only! Nice to know you all.
My daughter is born in 2013 and we’re staying in Punggol. My hb want her to be in CHIJ Hougang but talk only no action. Zzzz…
What do we do in order to get my daughter in there?
PS: We’re total noob parents and very unfamiliar with the systems. And of course all the abbreviation used here. I guessed PV means Parents Volunteer? -
Jochin:
By CHIJ Hougang, I assume you mean CHIJ OLN (as there's no CHIJ Hougang).

What do you do?
You may:
1. Consider shifting house to within 1km of the school; or
2. Adopt a religion.
To be 100% bao jiak, you can do both. -
I hope you don’t take Floppy’s candour too seriously. Do not adopt a religion for the sake of schools… very unethical in the eyes of God.
For OLN it’s good enough if you shift nearer or PV. It’s not that popular.
No action can also get in (some years 2C no balloting), but you need to have a back up school nearer your own house if you don’t get a seat. -

I don't think there's anything unethical / ethical about adopting a religion because of school.I hope you don't take Floppy's candour too seriously. Do not adopt a religion for the sake of schools... very unethical in the eyes of God.
Some people adopt a religion because of salvation, others because of redemption, some because of afterlife or their next life (or at least a better afterlife or next life), a few because of peer influence / pressure, etc. Who is to judge that one reason for adopting a religion is more ethical than the other.
