Anyway for now till that DSA online application system is up, it’s still fluid and flexible. Any darn combination deemed ideal to the receiving school can pass.
Once u start to input your credentials via their computerised system, you may not be shortlisted if you didn’t check a certain box e.g. CCA, leadership…
Like online job applications, employers may search by "Masters and above" plus "x years experience" only. Even if you have a CFA but becos u only posess a first degree, the system doesn’t call out your cv to HR.
Would like to know how this system works really… -
With this announcement, I think those top IP schools will become more selective or strict in admitting students through DSA by academic domain and more will be admitted under sports or performance or cca…good and bad…
Lets see this year whether RI/HCI still requires students to take GAT or other ability tests… -

There will always be those who want to 'chope' their place first via DSA, in case of any hiccup during PSLE. :evil:
if student A is consistently within Top 3 in standard in P4, 5 & 6, in terms of academic results -
this student shouldn't have problem entering Secondary school, via PSLE T-score. Need not DSA
I have come across a couple of parents who did just that when their kids were in P6.
Now with this new MOE policy, they must be feeling 'heng ah'... :boogie: -

Schools can always conduct in-house academic domain tests. Don't think Moe will forbid in-house tests
Lets see this year whether RI/HCI still requires students to take GAT or other ability tests...
And for benchmarking purpose, schools can call those top in cohort in respective subject domain to sit for domain test. GAT is not the only deciding factor. There is also performance during interview
Although the vendor who is conducting GAT... if GAT is being scrapped then from now on no business liao :scratchhead: -

Of course should dsa. Actually, if good school results means the more one should try dsa since there might be reasonable chance of success. No guarantee but at least can be hopeful.

The primary benefit of dsa is a calmer state of mind because it is bird in the hand. With a confirmed offer, child can have a stress-free psle. Parents too -
One question: if a student is a gep student, at the same is also a national sport player (with national top 4 ranking), this student is eligible for academic or sport dsa under the new ruling? :?

So now if a student is consistently top 3 in standard, but did not win any subject prize at all or maths Olympiad, yet all subjects above 90s, also not a sportsman / don’t have stellar cca performance kind:
no chance at dsa now since no more general academic domain? Better mug for psle instead?? -
