I only pity those borderline NA / NT brethren who hv to exit the fraternity. Not all can afford ACS Intl. The ousted may have to go to a secular neighbourhood school.

That is not something new.

Those ACS boys who are ousted, go to other secular neighbourhood schools, to study :-
their future advantage, remain.
their future generation (off-spring), can still come back to enrol into either ACS (primary) or ACS (Junior) one day in future, after they get married, bear sons one day, since they are old boys, from either of these 2 schools.


However, those 20% new Boys, who come into ACS (Barker) Secondary to replace them, from 2019 onwards :-
under current P1 Registration game (rules), these 20% new boys' next, future generation off-spring : CANNOT be enrolled to study in either ACS (primary) nor ACS (Junior) in future, because their parents ( these 20% new boys) had never studied in either of these schools, before.

although ALL can call themselves Old Boys of ACS one day, still, therein lies a stark contrast between them, in terms of their future off-spring enrolment, into ACS primary schools.

because ACS (Barker) Secondary : is NOT a FULL-school, unlike boys from Catholic High (Secondary full school), & Maris Stella (full school)

with the AL grading and the 20% affiliation places reduced, the kids really have to work VERY hard.

The academically-inclined children can survive anywhere in any primary schools. Eventually, all children will take PSLE and be ranked accordingly based on PSLE T-score or AL grading.

There is no guarantee that they can stay even if they meet affiliation COP if more than 80% of the affiliated students put it as first choice and their COP are higher.

The reason why many think it's \"guarantee\" is that based on past years' trend, the affiliated schools know the no. of affiliated students meeting the affiliated COP and putting as first choice has always been a comfortable figure. This will still be the came for the majority except for the 6 to 8 affiliated schools ...

for different affliated Secondary schools : the actual number (20% reserved) will depend on the Total number of Sec 1 classes opened for each intake batch, & the number of Sec 1 students assigned to each course class (Express O level / Normal Academic / Normal Technical).

with 20% affliation places reduced, some P6 students now drop the mentality : take for granted, can go back easily to awaiting, affliated Secondary school.

No leh. With the 20% in place, someone will still get the cut if the affiliated kids exceed the available slots even if everyone works uber hard
