I dunno leh. I agree to spend 3 to 5 k/mth to just do catch up maybe the child just not cut out for it. but to spend same amt to be at top then different story la.

Alamak, why do you even need to pay 3-5k/month to catch up??

ammonite: it's not to catch up but to learn in advance.

It's useful to take enrichment to finish the O or A level syllabus first. We know IP schools teach some O and A level stuffs earlier than non-IP schools.

A lot of people still have the misconception that people who take tuition are the weak students. No, people pay hundreds per month to learn contents in advance if they don't have SAHPs who can coach at home.
Not all SAHP coach. As long as the child has literacy skills, there is nothing to stop him or her from obtaining the booklist to read ahead. It is not necessary at all to pay for tuition for that. The only difference is interest. The disinterested child needs someone to yank them to the table and pour predigested bits into the ear.

(Referring to the strong students in this case.)

Noted, ammonite. Then such a SAHP needs to get back to the workforce if she's blessed with such \"interested\" kids! haha šŸ™‚

can't be having tuition forever right? no wonder singapore is known as tuition nation.

JC is tough...and tuition fee for GP can easily hit $80/hr.

So sad. Back in my days, JC was one and half year of holiday camp. :siam:

Yah, got time to pak tor too.

But what I'm getting here is a lot of KSPs kids have no bf or gf in JC. Either they are very nerdy, or they are not good looking enough! šŸ¦† :siam:

When is ah girl a woman?

JC students (post-secondary) will remain as ah boy or ah girl, even though age wise, they aren't that far apart.

son is going to poly next month. let's see what is coming. honestly, i do hope he doesn't get a gf yet. when on cloud 9, studies will be affected...if they quarrel, studies will also be affected. 失恋 they will feel the whole world will collapse.
