But hor, donch apply to too many schools. Personally, anything more than 3 is a waste of time and effort. And be realistic lah...oops...I mean, donch be too optimistic lah!

Yah. What's the point of applying to schools you don't really want to go to? For that, can just leave to using PSLE, no?

And the strange thing is. some parents self-create their own dilemma.

      Example

After their child had DSA for a few schools (some schools they actually not keen in : half-hearted, but they still proceed with it), then when the schools they not keen in (usually, is not a DSA offer from R*/H* schools) eventually gave their P6 Child a DSA offer, they come to this forum & ask, \" in a dilemma now. Should my son / daughter take up, or don't up the DSA offer, or wait for Psle results ?\"

If u know u going to end up in a dilemma, don't DSA to that school.

          Em:

Can attend Toastmasters meetings. Each session should have a portion which allows members and non-members to pick a random topic and speak off the cuff for 3 min. No prep is required. There will be amateur evaluations.

Note: do not get pressurized to join the club.

How to join Toastmasters? Is there one for kids? Any contact to share?

Use this link to check the clubs nearest to you:
          https://www.toastmasters.org/Find-a-Club?q=Singapore&radius=25&n=&advanced=0&latitude=1.352083&longitude=103.81983600000001&autocomplete=true

Decent overall advice given from this Quora thread:
          https://www.quora.com/Which-are-the-best-toastmasters-clubs-in-Singapore

Unsure if there are clubs for kids.

Let me reiterate: do not feel compelled to join a club, which will be one of the Toastmasters objectives. Go as a guest as and when you like. Hopefully you can chance upon some good evaluators and speakers.

Can I check with other mummies, how often does your child has to do Chinese show and tell? Thanks.

I honestly can't remember the last time DD had show and tell. For sure P2, but P3 didn't seem to have any.

Thank you! ds didn’t have any in P3 as well, but started again this yr. I was wondering if it was to help prepare them for oral.

NUS High had compiled last year (2016) results of primary schools' participation, in SPSO.

Who are the students, getting Gold award, for Science Olympiad ?
                        mostly, from GEP schools
(can count yourself, how many get Gold)

Then, Who get Silver & Bronze award ?
                        many students, from Non-GEP schools
                        (can count yourself)

Source of info (from NUS High)
