But I heard of mum who quit their jobs so as to revise with the kids...but the kids got no time to revise with the mum...

Those mums missed the boat. Why quit when the child is in P6? These mums should have stayed at home with the children during the lower primary years to build up a firm foundation with the child. At P5 or P6 level, the poor child has piles of school homework to complete on top of supplementary classes.

For wrong spelling of key words, will any mark (half mark or 1m) deducted, according to new PSLE sc marking scheme?

Based on what I know, the answer is No deduction of marks for wrong spelling of keyword for PSLE Science if the answer and explanation is correct. Lower block primary 3 or 4 will deduct marks for wrong spelling of key words. Best person to check with is your child's school Science HOD.

Sometimes kids are ok…nothing wrong with foundation. …just under performing during exams.

For such cases, it is more important to have a strategy and revision plan to get in tune with the psle styled questions n marking scheme. No need full time intense revision coz kids will be bored doing simple qns.

At least these mums are trying to help their kids improve in some way or another, even at the last minute. :salute: It's still better than just sending the kids to enrichment centers. When you make time and be around for them, it will certainly give your child some boost. But remember not to over-monitor or over-nag them, then you will add even more stress.

my girl’s school’s P6 CCA stop at term1 and P6 supp classes stop in mid term2.

though 5days can come back earlier, still have a lot of homework to clear everyday.
sometime i wondered is it really a lot of homework, or they do slowly cos after school, feel tired.
anyone can share their weekly revision schedule ? TIA

              my plans
after SA1 to Prelim -> cheong and revise
from Prelim to PSLE (3 weeks) -> has to slow down, do the basic revision.

probably list down the topics to revise and specify the components for languages revision. For english & chinese, there's oral, compo and LC to practise.

CCA stops in term 1? That’s good. My DD1’s CCA only stops end-May. Luckily, she just finished her MO training with school last week, which frees up some time for me to do revision with her every Wed. Plus just finished her violin exam last month, which again lifted a big rock off my chest. I wonder should I stop her music lessons from now on. Hope to have more free time with her to sit down and do revision.

For my dd1’s case, I don’t think she is slow in clearing homework but it’s the horrifying amount of homework she is getting this year.

Plus school hours are so long. Plus once a week, school starts as early as 6.50am for PSLE Chinese oral prep. I don’t recall there is a need to prepare oral for one whole year during my era. I don’t even have after school HCL & supplementary classes.

These few weeks DD1 kept complaining of headaches and I fed her with Panadol twice. DH ask me to get 泡渗 for her to boost her immune system.

                      I think it's a good idea.

I stopped dd2's music lessons totally ever since August P5. Although many parents said we should let children continue with their usual routine but there's only 24 hours a day. Need to prioritize lah and honestly music lesson is not of high priority to me. Sleep earlier better leh. Still playing leisurely. Music can serve as a form of relaxation if minus the music exam

Ds1 started getting frequent headaches in p6 too. It started in p5 so we insisted he dropped hcl so psle year not too stressful. It may be the start to future headaches. He still does so in sec 3 now but has since recognise symptoms and he knows how to manage it without medication. So far we only give medication if needs fast relief eg outside. Else he sleeps it away.

You have to monitor closely as it may strike any time and really the kids will suffer it coincide with test. Plan to finish any test prep earlier as stress is also a factor.
