So your son must have done well (judging by the bouncing creature?). My daughter has all her results except GP now. She's satisfied with her results, but can see where there is room for improvement. There seems to be rash of cake-buying in her class - apparently some promised to buy cake for their friends if their friends did well in a subject; for some, they will buy cake to console the ones who didn't do well; and for some, the one who did well buys the cake. So complicated - how do they remember who's buying what for whom and for what reason? -

I was just going to say that Firefly's ds must have done very well.

DS says students had been warned (by teachers) that this exam would be a killer, so most students (including DS) had set realistic targets for themselves. DS has gotten results for all subjects except GP. He's satisfied with his results (which has exceeded his targets) though there's still room for improvement. I'm happy for him too..

My daughter was also warned about these CTs, so she's fine with her results. I hope the school will release the median marks which will give a clearer picture. Anyway, she was really busy up till the March hols so didn't have that much time for revision. Once they stand down from their activities in May, she can spend the rest of the year mugging! (I'm sure she won't, though.) -

Something to check with u. RA is not the same as H3 rite? I suppose those who take RA should ideally take H3 as well (if their core subjects are strong). But for students who don't take RA, if they want to challenge themselves, how do they prep for H3? -

Jumping in here as my daughter takes RA and H3 (for different subjects, though) - RA means that they do advanced stuff during curriculum time, but take the same exams as for H2. It's an internal thing. It will mean that they will be in classes with students doing the same RA subject in Y5-6 for timetabling purposes. H3 is an additional A level paper and results will appear on the A level cert. Lessons are outside normal curriculum time in the Y6 year.
I don't think there is any reason to specially prep for H3 before Y6. If the student gets into an H3 subject (based on Y5 results), he will have to attend the lessons and do the reading/assignments etc. Many RI students take H3 without being in RA, and some (many?) take RA and H3 in different subjects. Some students are really interested in one subject - like one of my daughter's classmates who takes RA, H3 and is in the Olympiad team for the same subject! But my daughter decided that RA and H3 in the same subject would be too much of a good thing.
