Sometimes even go regular chk up oso cannot detect the illness. I hv ex colleague went regular fr screening n chk up breast, pap smear, etc…All the sudden(within 4 months), she had passed away due to breast cancer.

Yes, i have heard of cases where one very conscious of health, still died due to cancer -

I reckon it's because fewer are dying from TB, flu, cholera, typhoid, polio... -
My Uncle recently went a&e for stomach pain and was diagnosed with stage 4. Operated on immediately and now awaiting medical report.

I hope he is recovering well
May I ask he went to a private or govt hosp? If it is the latter, is he as a private or subsidised patient? -
If you go for regular check up, the possibility of catching the symptoms early are good. If your family has a high cancer incidence rate, then the gap between check ups would have to be tighter than usual. A cancer marker test would give you an idea if you are totally clueless of your risk.

I do actually know of 2 young people who had bone cancer in the leg and a mother who had stomach cancer. All in remission now. Cancer has other symptoms, it won't be just a pain. Look for general and unusual fatigue, inexplicable bloating, bruises that don't go away etc.
Different cancer has different symptoms. It's good to learn to notice or understand some of them. I also advocate going for the standard screening once you hit 40 yo.
For ladies, most common form of cancers - breast, colon, endometrial, lung, cervical, skin, and ovarian cancers.
For men, most common form of cancers - prostate, lung, colorectal, bladder and melanoma skin cancers. -
