Hi, I am new here. just wondering if anyone knows if SAHP are somewhat \"preferred\" vs. working parents in getting selected for PV? meaning that SAHP have more time flexibility during school hours to help vs. working parents? thank you!

        No difference

I don’t think there’s a difference, but I would suggest that in your application cover letter, you play up your willingness to take leave, take time off/flexi hours, or wake up earlier to arrive at school to be traffic warden before school starts (if your work is strictly 9am-6pm).

The nature of the bulk of PV duties is done within school hours where the staff is there to check off on your hours clocked. Very few small projects are done during school holidays & Saturdays (maybe Sports Day type of event). So working parents need to have a concrete plan of how to serve the 40 hours. And convince the school in your letter, at least you tried your best. Don’t give them an easy reason to reject you based on your job. I think the cover letter plays a big part. Just like any job application. All the best!

ACS doesn't have PV scheme for phase 2B purposes. And you're right, many schools either don't have PV scheme, or have shut it down in recent years. Too much competition.

For ACS, you have to either be a Methodist church member or a grass root leader in order for you to go for Phase 2B.

I got the chance to do PV for my YR2012 child at radin mas and wondering if other parents here would be joining me as well? And have you gotten notification on when to start?

                    Hi,
I was also given the opportunity to pv at rmps. Was informed the pv will usually start in july onwards. There will be emails and deadlines will be given to reply. Not on a first come first serve as i was told.

Hello. Anyone here has applied or done PV at CHIJ Lady Queen of Peace? Appreciate if you can share what are the odds or being selected as PV and if it is challenging to clock the 40hrs. Thanks!!!
