Anglo Chinese Family of Schools

Hello, my husband is an old boy of ACSI (didn't study in any of the ACS primary school). If he signs up as alumni, does it qualify for Phase 2A1?

He had to study either in ACSP or ACSJ before. ACS is not a full school, so alumni of the secondary schools are not considered as alumni of the primary schools. -
What are the difference between online registration and on-site registration? We will register under phase 2C.
Many thanks! -

I guess the only difference would be the document verification part. For on-site registration, they will verify your documents first before they let you register. And you will have a real time update on how many applicants have registered before you. What are the difference between online registration and on-site registration? We will register under phase 2C.

The other difference is: online registration closes 1 day earlier.
Actually, I find online registration very troublesome. U need to ensure both parents have Singpass ready and 2FA as well. If any internet failure etc at the crucial time, that’s it. I wouldn’t advise it unless u are currently located overseas or on work trip etc. -
How about, another scenario ?
Example
Suppose a student had studied previously in ACS primary (Singapore), for three years, in (P1 to P3, lower primary).
At end of P3, after clearing 2 rounds of GEP tests :-
This Student was offered GEP, by MOE.
As this student prefer a SAP environment back then, so he transferred successfully to Catholic High Junior, for (P4 to P6, GEP) in 1990s, hence Left ACS primary.
His PSLE certificate showed that he graduated from Catholic High Junior years ago, but not from ACS primary.
Now, this student grew up, get married, have a son.
Question
This parent know that he can proceed to enrol his son under ex-student Phase 2A(2), into ACS (primary, Sg) : because he still have the report card, to prove that he was an ex-student, for three years (P1 to P3).
But, If he's thinking of enrolling his son under ACS alumni Phase 2A(1),
Will he still be able to do so, because his PSLE certificate showed that he didn't graduate in P6 from ACS (primary), but graduated from another school, (Catholic High) instead ?
(assuming that he doesn't mind paying $500 fees, to join ACS OLd boys association)
does joining alumni Phase 2A(1) means : on condition that, one must have graduated in PSLE, from that particular primary school (Sg)?
Thank you, for clarification. -

To clarify further, to qualify for Alumni Phase 2A(1) :-bringus2sg:

students must have studied either in ACSP or ACSJ, Singapore only.
Not ACS schools from Malaysia, because certain Malaysia states also happen to have ACS mission schools. -

I think based on MOE's guidelines at https://www.moe.gov.sg/admissions/primary-one-registration/phases, you don't have to graduate from the school of choice, but I might be wrong. How about, another scenario ?

Phase 2A(1)
(a) For a child whose parent is a former student of the primary school and who has joined the alumni association as a member not later than 30 June 2016
(b) For a child whose parent is a member of the School Advisory / Management Committee
Phase 2A(2)
(a) For a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the primary school of choice
(b) For a child whose parent is a staff member of the primary school of choice -
Thanks very much, for above reply.
Appreciated.
Because in some other primary schools, in order to come under Alumni Phase 2A(1) :-
The student must have graduated at P6, from that particular primary school, with a PSLE certificate, from the school.
Otherwise, if just merely studied in that school before, for x number of years, but subsequently student get transferred out to another primary school, never graduate at all from P6 there, then cannot.
At the very most,
This student can Enrol, under ex-student Phase 2A(2), but not under Alumni Phase 2A(1). Inspite of the fact that u are willing to pay Alumni fees before date-line set, Alumni of this primary school doesn't allow.
One example, is :
An \"All-Girls\" GEP primary school.
The current staff in charge of that school's alumni Matter, had confirmed in writing, concerning this.
Example
The Terms & Condition, to join Alumni Phase 2A(1), in RGPS, are as follow:-
- applicants to be at least above 19 years old
PLUS
- applicants MUST have graduated, from RGPS.
verify source of info (school website):-
https://www.rgpsalumni.org.sg/memberLogin.php#login -
Firstly, if that person does not qualify as an alumni member, then it’ll automatically rule him out if that phase.
Quite simple, right?
If not happy, then challenge the school’s alumni assn lah -

The good news is, ACS OBA allows you to join even if you didn't graduate from ACS.
