All About Primary Schools' Balloting History
-
Hi
I need advice. I have done my PV in Ngee Ann Primary but I am staying in Bedok. I really want my kid to go to Red Swatiska because it is still within walking distance. In dilema should I try for Phase 2C for Red Swatiska but high chance there will be balloting. What a stressful exercise to go through?
If I register for Phase 2B for Ngee Ann and I want to retract my application to apply for Phase 2C for Red Swatiska, is this possible? If yes, how fast can this be done? Can someone advise me on this?
Greatly appreciate advice on above. Thanks -

You can do that. Withdrawal can be done in minutes and all you need to do is make sure you register before the exercise phase close.

That said, once you withdraw from Ngee Ann, there is no chance you can get it back given that it will also ballot in Phase 2C (likely for 1 - 2km). And if you are balloted out of Red Swatiska, you will have to pick from the remaining schools in P2CS. -

May I know there is Balloting in 2006 is it due to those born in Dragon year. Born in 2000?
By the way, I'm aiming the following schools & planning to do PV.
Fairfield Methodist Primary
River Valley Primary
Radin Mas Pri School
hi mummy, where do you stay? which phrase are you trying? -
Hi All Kiasu parents my DS will be going through the P1 exercise in 2019. We got a unit in Bidadari and is within 1km from Maris Stella but we are not affiliated to the school nor is my husband an old school boy, what are the chances of me getting a slot in phase 2C?
We are considering St Andrews as well as my husband is an affiliated church member (phase 2B) there but seems like we are out of the 1km radius. We are actually more keen to go for MS due to the curriculum and ccas but afraid that our DS will ended up balloting for even less than 1km radius phase.
Any advises if we should risk it or just try our luck for Phase 2C MS or Phase 2B SA? -

Since you are eligible for Phase 2B, why don't you register in St Andrew first? You've got nothing to lose because you can't register in Maris Stella in that phase anyway.Hi All Kiasu parents my DS will be going through the P1 exercise in 2019. If you manage to secure a place in Phase 2B, you can sit back and relax while you monitor the situation in Maris Stella. If the odds are against you, stick to St Andrew.
If you're balloted out in Phase 2B, then you can go all out in Phase 2C for Maris Stella, while at the same time prepare a backup school just in case you're balloted out again. -
Does Maris Stella have compulsory Higher Chinese from P1? If so, u may need to take that into consideration, whether your son can cope with that…

Yes, of course
Maris Stella primary, being one of the listed SAP schools in Sg -
All Primary 1 students start Higher Chinese, from Primary 1.
Yes, take galaxyraider’s advice. She is right. Enrol the son into St Andrew first, since under Phase 2B (Anglican), she is given the chance to do so.
on last day of Phase 2C, see how is the chance like, at Maris Stella, before decide what to do next. -

dragon years are usually HOT years. for certain schools, balloting takes place whether it is a hot year or not.

yes, year 2000 was a very hot year back then. -
Thanks for your advices phtthp and galaxyraider! Quite critical on my decision - if my first son gets in any, I won’t have to worry for my 2nd son born in 2015!
