Sorry too many type of cards until i’m confused… May i know if just for tokyo metro and sapporo metro usage which card better to use? like our ez link… then for the sim card which type of sim card to use for tokyo and sapporo? Do they have that type like 7 days, 10 days or 15 days usage then can throw away… thanks in adv…

Nov 26th (sun) Studio Ghibi, Asakusa, sunshine city, Ikebukero's Pokemon Center, (stay @ shinjuku)

My recommendation is for you to drop Asakusa for this day.

For Kyoto, i personally think if you are bringing young kids there, they might not like too many temples, so 1 day might just be enough. You have to gauge properly.

If you are doing an open-jaw (come in from Tokyo/exit from Osaka), then you dont need to buy JR pass. Just buy single trip ticket will do.

Your itinerary doesn't seem to be v fixed now. May need some adjustments. May i suggest the following?

Nov 24th (Fri) : Tokyo / Shinjuku
Nov 25th (Sat): Studio Ghibli/Mitaka, Ikebukuro (Pokemon Center/Sunshine City)
Nov 26th (Sun): Tokyo/ Shinjuku, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine (will see cosplay on Sun)
Nov 27-31st (Mon - thurs) Maihama/ Disneyland and Disneysea
Dec 1st (Fri) - Tokyo/Odaiba
Dec 2nd(sat) -Hakone

Dec 4 (Mon) - Kyoto (Arashiyama, Fushimi Inari, Kiyomizudera, Gion)
Dec 5 - (Tues) - Nara

awwww u single traveller, how I envy you.. with a family in toll, so many things are into consideration now.. I was in Tokyo 10 yrs ago for a biz trip and extended one day.. covered places like harajuku, Shinjuku, meiji shrine, Asakusa on my own... and took a take-away bento from the super market for my in-room dinner.. .cannot remember how I make my way back.. guessed my colleagues printed a good train system map for me and I went to airport via Airport Limousine...

I liked asakusa and wanna bring my family there.. maybe will switch pokemon center in sunshine city to the one around Osaka station..

Himeji temple is not on-route from hakone? maybe will do Himeji with nara during the one day trip?

I oso need advice on hakone ryokan with private onsen.. budget $500-$800 per night for 2A2C(8yrs and 10yrs). I saw this TENSEIEN.. which is quite affordable and more hotel kind. but buffet style meals... wondering whether I shld compromise and do with this as I doubt my kids will appreciate a kaisen meal..

also.. along my itinerary, which location do u see young ladies renting and wearing kimono? I think my girl likes the idea of wearing one..

made tentative reservations at all hotels already.. left is the hotel/ryokan w private onsen.... after that can r&r and slowly reading up...

fellow travellers going Disneyland/sea.. and thinking of staying in Hilton Tokyo Bay... do note that their prices fluctuate like stock markets. the price for happy magic ocean room can be like 18800yen per nite or 24000 yen per night..monitor their prices for a few days and book when the price is low.

Not really single traveller. I bring about 4-5 students along with me when i go. So i have to plan more stuff

Nara and Himeji are a bit too far from each other. See Google Maps for more info.

i made arrangement with host, & i can now check in 1day earlier already:) phew!
think easier to make day trips from osaka
now more on planning which day go where from osaka..
we have 9 days, including 1 day travel to Oasaka from tokyo disney hotel on 30th nov..
and last day flight back to s'pore 11.30pm on 8th Dec
places plan to go, kyoto, miyajima+hiroshima,kobe+rokko snow park....
